Tub Rack Ideas and Canopy Fabricator Connects

So I need to pull my finger out over the xmas/ny break and put some effort into making my Triton a bit more camping friendly for some trips next year as summer backs off.

Has anyone made a tub rack and wished they did something different/better/etc. What gauge SHS did you use?

I'm currently thinking of making a main rear hoop of something like 50x25x2-2.5 RHS and running two lengths up to the factory tray head and bolting it on there. Build out the rest with 25x25x2ish SHS.

I have no interest in a big money 'thousands of dollars into a tray' set-up. Will be a basic rack that carrys the swag/Oztent RV3 up top. Probably a '30 second awning' 270 degree unit bolted onto the passenger side of the rack. Make the sides semi secured by filling in the holes with padlocked maxtraxs and get aluminium rear fold up door for the back. Tailgate has central locking so when thats closed and locked the lift up screen can't be opened.

Happy to take on ideas/criticisms. I am all ears/eyes

What about pre-made racks? Plenty of variety around at the moment for good money.
PPD do OzRoo tub racks in full height and half height which are awesome, worth a look in my opinion.

They're all too generic and don't quite tick the required boxes for me... and by the time you bolt a 3/4 length rack to the top of that then have a rear door to make it secure I'd probably be the cost of actually paying to have a fabricated one made and powder coated and it would look like a dogs breakfast lol

Saying that, looks like I get to stay back a week at work so paying for a one to be made up and ready for me when I get home from my next swing is now extremely tempting lol

Taking on canopy fabricator recommendations also.

    EDIT:
Basically looking to get something like this but with open sides secured with the maxtraxs locked in place and the security door style rear fold-up panel.

So after procrastinating endlessly with indecisiveness I went down this road, 2mm ali sheet on top to shade everything from the sun and some brackets for a 270 degree awning.

Unpacking the car I found the Mitsubishi tub wasn't up to the task of the ozroo rack with an awning on it, well not up to the task without it being seriously braced to the headboard. The outer sheet metal has tears in it from the top front corners where the skin has come away from the inner sheetmetal. Lucky I had a boat trailer in tow so didn't come home via the Gibb lol
