Sold mine, bought a mate's 250cc Ninja as an interim replacement - mine was stock 2009, his is 2012, similar kms, has the yoshi exhaust, $400 rearsets, yamaha r6 throttle tube like mine did, some other bits and pieces (he spent about $1k on parts when he bought it).

Should be a fun upgrade for the next 6-9 months until I start going for my unrestricted license.

The whole right side copped it, snapped handlebar, brake lever, the whole lot. Testament to wearing your gear, I walked away without a scratch.

    Test drive all the things!

    Most likely R1 or GSXR1000.

Mate just bought a 675R so will give that a whirl too, but he is 80kgs and I'm 105kgs so I think I'll be looking at the 1000cc.

I was up the ass of a guy who highsided his Pani on turn 5 at barbs on the weekend. First race meet with that bike too. Do not want to see his repair bill.

    Fark, that sounds hefty.

Mate had an 848, only tracked it once he bought China fairings for it - saved himself a hefty bill too really because he crashed it not long after and broke his arm (at Barbs also).

Another mate of mine took his 250 to the track (very one I just bought for the interim) and saw a bird take her new Ducati out for the first time, crashed the bike first lap too.

I should really just go get my open license already, might try book it in at Mirrabooka - have heard City West have become really anal the last few months (maybe due to an audit?)

People always manage to crash at beginner track days - They seem to be the ones who don't listen to the instructors, You just aren't going fast enough to warrant it

I didn't do it, bike seems to have developed a ticking noise on its own. Hoping it's just CCT and I can fix it this weekend quickly. If it's valves then that looks like 300-400 for a shop to do it.

headphones have lost one side also (happens every time) - anyone using a decent set currently they'd recommend with bluetooth? might make a different thread for it so it doesn't get lost in here.

It's a pity these pipes will be hidden behind the fairings.

Wasn't today, more like last week. Fitted a set of Akrapovic pipes which I had ceramic coated.

Picked this up the other week, pretty happy with it (VFR800).
Today did a full oil & filter change, brake & clutch fluid change, cleaned and lubed the chain. One of the first things I did actually was remove the exhaust internal baffles haha.. the V4 sounds so good.. one day would like to get some proper pipes for less weight and better looks, but for now its loud enough.
Also have a Saddlemen seat resto kit coming (this seat has 1 or 2 tears) and a new front screen.

The guy I bought it off also gave me a full spare set of fairings and tank.. have been toying with the idea of going with a Mustang P40 army kinda look on it.... maybe

With bars that high is it comfortable to ride, even on long trips?

Yeah it is surprisingly, it's a lot more comfortable with these bars than it was with the drag bars I had on before.

Jake from Static chucked some white walls on for me this morning. I have been wanting some for ages and should have done it so much sooner! Huge improvement in the look.

Mate's in the same boat, bought a track bike right before Barbs went AWOL.

Told him he should put it on some brackets on his living room wall, would at least get some use as art.
