Drove out to Racewars at 5am Saturday morning, raced all weekend and then drove home... stoked that the car was solid all weekend!
Extremely impressed with the ProjectMu HC+, always felt entirely comfortable in the car pulling up with plenty to spare even on the 1000m.

More so the event was incredibly good fun, my only disappointment was not getting myself there on friday for the motokhana!

    Few pics from the weekend.

Only minor incident for the weekend was an indicator popping out and shredding the indicator loom... indicator was found & had survived with the advantage of a CAI for the rest of the sunday session! haha

Was quite happy with my standing in the 1000m especially when I compared times, certainly had a ball out there launching the car which probably helped

Been a bit quiet last few years... whats been happening?
Well kids, job turmoil, trump, covid, saudis vs russians, trump, uni ate chunks of time too... I digress.

Quite a while back I decided that I wanted to have another crack at racewars, but the car "needed" some goodies to be added and gremlins had to be sorted, so off to lads at Galvsport.
Well the ye olde knock knock noise that I though was drivetrain related, ended up being something a little more familiar...

    here we go...

But not all was lost, and with engine out comes engine bay tidy up! #whilewearethere

    *** Scene deleted ***

Some time later, car has been assembled, fresh bottom end and head, setup with run in tune... still e85 goodness, still -5s, but now fresh build with a little extra comp add some mumbo.
Ignition got some love, upgraded to R35 coils and trigger arrangement.
Of course all the usual sump, pump, balancer was sorted during the main assembly.

Being on a run in tune, boost was capped.. but my god the old girl was begging for more, response was incredible.
But I needed to run in some kms, so freeways and coastals were run.

.. did I mention braking department got some love as well ? More R35 love!

The car went in for initial post run-in tuning some time ago, but during tune we found the limit of fuel system (on e85).
Having just built the engine and already been without for a while, I wanted no regrets when it finally came home, so the car went back in for more upgrades:
    • 1650cc BM Injectors
    • Upgraded FPR
    • FPG dual hanger kit (2x walbro 460s)
At some point in the midst of this build, Nismo oil cooler kits for the 32R became available again, so now its got a great oil cooler setup... scope creep much?

Motive recently did a video on the FPG kit, so I thought I'd put it here for those interested

Had a bit of additional motivation in last few weeks to see the old girl purr again, following an attempt at a life reset...
Washed, detailed and taken for a hearty cruise last weekend, fell in love with driving her again... a few little things to sort but overall the build is still holding up great

    Power wise?
Around 600whp... it wasn't far off that when we hit fuel limits. We sorted injectors etc out, but then didn't get it back on dyno.

As always life is getting in the way of fun stuff, but still getting the R out every fortnight or so for a good run.
