    Warning re: clear winscreen tint

Not any issue whatsoever with the tint, tko or installation work

But a couple of months ago the missus went in for a service and neglected to mention the clear tint

Long story short they've got Michael J Fox to remove the service sticker with a long handled shovel and the entire drivers side is scratched and scuffed.

As I said not any issue with TKO, and it is a fantastic product just dont forget to tell people working on your car that you have it.

I'll come in eventually to get it replaced :-)

Yeah I always mention it and make sure its written on the service paperwork in big letters.

NO SERVICE STICKER OR RAZORBLADES ON THE WINDSCREEN.

Completely eliminates need for sun shade also nice and cool on long trips.

    Laser detector still works too

The film is called Ultra Performance 75 and is made by SolarGard, the only film we use.
75 means it has a VLT(visible light transmittance) of 75% which means its virtually clear, blocks out 99% UVa and UVb and blocks out 40% heat when tested on 3mm clear glass.
It also has no metal or dyes in it so it doesnt interfere with radar detectors etc.
It cost $220 for a front windscreen and $495 for a car(side and back windows).
The film is very expensive to buy hence the higher than normal price.

Technically yes as no film can be put on the front windscreen except a strip at the top which is 10% of the height of the windscreen or at the heighest point of your windscreen wipers, whatever is heighest.

But as this tint is virtually clear no one will know its on there, unless you try and remove a service sticker!

Dumb question but I'll ask anyway. How would these go on a heated windscreen; the heater elements wouldn't ruin the tints?

We have never had a problem with any demister bars or heaters in back windows or windscreens, tint is designed to stand up in extreme heat and cold.

I reckon its one of the best things I have ever done to a car. Makes heaps of difference when driving in the direct sun.

You would have to be pretty unlucky in my opinion. A windscreen is laminated anyway so it shouldnt break up in most incidents. Unless it was a HUGE hit that busted the windscreen to a point that it was all twisted up.

80% window tint offers the same UV rejection as 5% or (limo tint) I have it on my windscreen, you cant even notice its been tinted yet keeps the car way way cooler. Great stuff.

This shit is awesome. It's not a miracle tint that suddenly makes airconditioning obsolete but there is definitely a notable decrease of in car temps and the temperature of the dash. Looking through the windscreen you'd never pick it unless you know it was there, and there's no noticeable difference in visibility at night which is terrific. Huge thanks to the guys at TKO, and thanks to the OP for making me aware this stuff existed!
