Shano - What wheelset are you running on your fixie?

Looking at building one up soon. Trying to find a cheap wheelset with a fixed or flip-flob hub is proving harder than I expected.

running velocity deep v's in 700c, non machined sidewall - hot tip if you are going to run brakeless.
just running a dura ace 16T cog and lockring

even though velocity is aus made it was cheaper to buy them off ebay usa laced up with the cog and lockring shipped to my door

Played around with a few apps on the new phone today.

Mapped out a lap of Forsyth onto Google maps:

Clicking the red flag gives a few stats.

dmwill - how would you rate your Yukon overall so far? Had a ride of one at the local bike shop today, was pretty impressed. Always been a fan of GT.

Looking for something to get to the traino each day, can hit the trails on the weekend and over the odd jump (nothing huge). Ive never ridden anything except BMX and am not sure if its worth me getting an STP, considering it wouldnt be getting jumped often at all.

Heading out to some Mundaring trails on a prehistoric mtb this weekend to give it a go and see where Im at with my riding.

My mate has a Giant Alias, very good for cheaper entry level bike, can handle jumps fairly well, just nothing huge (more XC style jumps then dirt jumping). STP is a great bike for the $, look at second hand too, you can get good value for money.

Just added some new wheels to my Scott (and a new frame under warranty)
Hope Pro 2 hubs (gold), DT Swiss comp spokes and RhynoLite XL welded rims...they are noisy and I love it!

Got and Easton Vice 65mm/10deg rise stem on teh way too, needed something a bit shorter. Then next purchases will be Fizik Gobi saddle and Formula Oro K18 brakes

What's your tips for cleaning pads/rotors ? Everytime i go out lately i come back with black disgusting rotors and pads because of the wet.

I got told to use medi-swabs and on both, makes them come up shiny and feel better for 2 minutes, then they squeaaaaaaal like a bitch for a while then the noise goes away and they are 1/2 decent.

    Got any other ideas?
