Where are people getting velocity wheels from?

I'm working out list of parts that I'll need to build a fixie up from scratch... not looking cheap!

Just got an email back from Chain Reaction. My new custom wheelset is built, and being shipped out ! Only took 4 days, that's quicker then Wheelcraft in Freo, and it's free when you order spoke kits !

    Halo Combat 36h Rims 26"
Proper Male Microlite BMX front hub 10mm bolt on
DMR Revolver Microlite Single speed 11t 10mm bolt on
DT Swiss Champion spokes and nipples.

See how fast I can break these puppies ! May order a spare built up rim in case I find some suspension forks I like, as they run a different hub altogether.

Ive seen some fucking good deals around but some have been pickup only from eastern states, but i cant be bothered arranging couriers.
But ive been searching eBay, GumTree for a good deal to arrise.

A good set of Quando Flip Flips Sealed hubs are $125 free postage.
    Unsealed $114 free post
Must look for postage cost since it will sometimes amount to $30-60 or more.

I saw Velocity deep v's for sale in shop for $500, i laughed out loud.
i missed out on bidding for a gold set for $99+$29 postage good deal

Let me know what you guys find, need some for spares and probably new bike.
Oh and the difference between Velocity's and Quando's is that Quando's have a rim join that is visable (possibly a weak point), Velocity's from what i know dont.

Oh one last thing new fixxies are coming out without chains, replaced with a fan belt haha pics next time i see one

Gates belts do a full driveline, have done for a few years in the MTB scene, less servicing, less things to go wrong, quieter driveline and better feel.

Also use internal gearing hubs etc, but most are single speed.

The bottom Nicolai runs the gearing system inside the rear hub.

I'm assuming you need horizontal dropouts to tension them?

About to head off to Forsyth this avro and maybe Goatfarm if time permits. Have not been in there since late last year.

Due to no shops being open and having nothing to do this avo i done some more on the fixie.
Painted the forks gloss black, cut down stcok bars to bullhorns and sanded the surface rust of them, also sanded the paint of the headstem.
Chucked what i have together and took a pic.
Done all i can be bothered doing to the frame now so if anyone is intrested $120 and its urs, Frame is 56cm will also chuck in the orginal single speed wheels but they have seen better days. Pm me if u want it.

that looks like steel frame, how many kg's you got running there? haha.

I like the frames with the cool tapered weld at the top of the seat post hole unfortunately for you. nice paint tho.

oh and nice pic Rexhunta haha, need a clean after?

Fixie guys with cup bottom brackets - I think this may help you if you want to run standard style screw in bottom brackets/ cranks.

It's a cup convertor made by DMR.

    http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/M...x?ModelID=8291

Says it suits BMX type, so I'm not too sure if it will help you, but here's hoping. If it does it's definitely a cheaper and better way out.
