I've got the same derrailler. It's so nice to shift properly.

And love the the 2 way Shimano shifters. Ever since I came across it, I've always pushed up for up and up for down.

Just finished respraying my Mosh last night, i'll get some photos of the frame tonight-ish.

I would never bother buying XTR stuff unless I wanted to be a weight-weenie, it's shifting capabilities vs cost over XT simply isn't worth it. My XT/LX drivetrain is flawless 99% of the time.

Had my first real ride with the new Fizik Gobi saddle on Sunday arvo, it's fucking awesome. I felt like I could sit in it all day without an issue, unlike my old Scott saddle that made my arse numb after about 30k's

I picked up some old downhill clip in pedals off a local guy down here today.

Pretty much has the platform around it, and then the SPD clip in the middle. going to use them to get used to clipping in, get my shoes middle of next week.

My bike came with Shimano SPDs, but they are just the clip in pedal, and look menacing to me, so going the easy option first !

Back the tension screw right off, make it easier to unclip. Clipless is so much easier for XC riding imo. I'd rather platforms for jumping stuff though... good platforms and shoes have as much grip as clipless.

If anyone wants to jump in on an order from ChainReactionCycles, let me know, I'm thinking about ordering some stuff (tyres), but only if I can get free shipping lol

So i'm clipped in. Does definitely feel a tad different, but you can feel that other peddle pulling up. Should be fun 1

remember to pull up on the returning pedal stroke, or those new clipless pedals wont be giving you any advantage at all.

Spd's also make you into a more fluid rider , instead of just mashing down pedals you get into a nice circular pedaling motion.
Almost get 50 % more efficent due to the upstroke, bonus!

Yeah, clipless is great. You mow people on the climbs using the same effort they do.

haha yeah, i need to get better ... doing them on a XC race frame is kinda hard though when the geo is designed to keep front wheel down

Just found a box on my desk containing a Gobi XM Saddle

Thinking of going up to Goatfarm tomorrow morning for a few hours - providing I don't sleep in.

They are so good, I've finally been able to test mine "properly". Can easily sit and spin in the saddle for 20kms without my arse aching (road riding, so ~45min) in normal shorts. On the trail my chamois insert Fox shorts .... did 18kms no worries the other day (1hr 20) .... contemplating heading out to Gap Creek now for a pedal - but the suns out and its 27deg :\

Well I have had a SDG Bel Air for the last year or so. It used to comfy....but as time has passed - it has become awful (Even in my Fox shorts with removable inner chamois)

Went to Goatfarm for an hour this morning. Wanted to stay longer but was in a t shirt and forgot sunscreen.

Gobi Saddle is kind on the ass

Had a chat to a bloke back in the carpark who had just got a 2010 Reign 1...had a chat about the bikes and all.

    Oh...and I ran over a snake

Just got back from Pile RD from my first experience clipped in.

    Shit yeah !

did easy ride only 7km, had 1 off, where theres a ride over uphill on a trail, it's 2 logs next to each other. Not enough speed or momentum, over I went.

Other then that, my climbing is definitelty heaps better !

haha I know the one.... next time just grab your front brakes and flick your back wheel up if you arent going fast enough. That's similar obstacle to what I stacked it on the other day - except logs are stacked horizontal and you hit it at a 45deg angle, trying to keep speed to make it through the uphill rock garden right after it .... back end slid out on them and I went knee first into a rock

Was on the back end of the Pallet trail, where it all starts climbing, it takes a 45 degree turn and theres 2 logs laying there. Next maintnance day that shits coming out !

I had been doing that flick on everything this arvo, and hell yeah my bunny hops are way higher !
