Thought I would throw my bike and my mates on here. Plus picture of the 25ft table top on goat farm
Just a spez, nothing over the top. Picked it up for couple of hundred from a bloke on gumtree which I don't think he knew how much it is worth.
At the moment its got new forks and new sun rim on the back. Plans are to copy the same rim on the front with new bars, gearing, cranks & pedals.

That table used to be a big old step up till some fucks knocked the landing down.

Now that most Giants are 29ers, this 650b has restored my faith

Very keen to ride. I wonder if they will go back to Fox's new 2014 gear..... float X looks like a nice shock. If they do a carbon model I might have to be looking at upgrading.
Like this one?

Been logging some decent miles to work and back so I've changed up my hard tail a bit to battle with some roadie mates on strava. Changed over to mtb spd pedals, super moto tyres and selle italia flite mount. Difference is night and day still have the dirt tyres for the heritage trail as I live across the road from it and enjoy the 40km loop through the hills.

Mitchy, what 29'er hard tail do you have?
I've been tempted lately... Liberty Bikes have a mad looking Ritchey P-29 for sale with demo km on it... Shimano XT equipped with a bit of SRAM thrown in, Rock Shox Reba forks, Hope Mono mini brakes.

Niner MCR9 makes my prostate tingle

i had a 2013 Trek Cobia, which i just sold after buying my dually and realising i was sold the wrong frame size.
i'm now going to build a rigid 29er, 1x10 speed... just deciding if i go for something like a niner frame and forks, or a chinese carbon frame that has a 190+ page thread on MTBR.com with pretty decent reviews just for the hell of it...

Whats the deal with all these roady in disguise 29ers? Where are all the real bikes these days. Lol I sound like middle aged single women making excuses for her loveless life.
personally i dont like the look of road bikes, and i'm not out there to shave my gooch and go 0.1km/h faster than yesterday.
a 29er with some well rolling tyres is enough to daily around, and if i want to fuck around on trails i still can.
i've been riding my dually around town with 2.25" rear and 2.5" front tyres at 30psi recently, haha.

Tried a few road bikes out today....
Considered carbon frame bikes, but despite the benefits (stronger/lighter/stiffer/ability to absorb bumps better) I can't justify the extra $500+ over a similar spec alloy framed bike. Rather spend that money on some SPD-SL shoes, helmet, future upgrades, etc.
Looked at Cannondales - lightest alloy frames, but are all a few hundred over other brands of similar spec. Looked at other brands, but all the base models seem to have the older cranks/BBs (Not the later Hollowtech II, or SRAM equivalent).
Pretty keen on a Defy 2 or 1.
2 - Full Tiagra, no-name brakes. Front wheel is actually a radial spokepattern like the Defy 1. $1199
1 - Essentially the same, but 105 gear (still no-name brakes). $1399

Why a Defy and not a TCR? The Defy has more relaxed geometry (read old man geometry).
Isn't it a bit obvious that if I'm looking at Defys, my budget will not stretch 2k+ for a TCR?
I'm not looking to get too serious with road cycling anyway, it's purely just for fitness and longer rides when I'm not on the mountain bike.
If you're not going to get too serious with road racing etc, just go with the 105 Defy. You won't regret going with 105 over Tiagra. You also would be hard pressed to find a roady better equipped for the price than Giant (except perhaps for Chinese internet brands).
