I just have a set of Wellgo MG1's.
Not too heavy, replaceable pins and not too fancy looking. IMO, pointless buying pretty looking pedals which are just going to get smashed up on KC.
Pretty pedals belong on street bikes.. Like my MKS track pedals :-P
heh, well the cobia is basically a glorified road bike at the moment and probably wont see kalamunda (i even bought a set of road tyres and about to buy a second set of wheels, sooo tempted to buy these purely for looks alone http://www.pushys.com.au/crank-broth...set-black.html) but when i move to the gold coast in march i'm hoping to throw myself down some of the hills brisbane, etc has to offer, and was looking at the MG1's myself.
I'm running the Nukeproof Electron's at the moment. Nice size, replaceable pins, lighter than they alloy pedals my bike came with, and available with Ti stuff for extra ballerlightnesslookatme factor.

I actually head out to KC, at Goat farm last time I was home... No blood, but I did tweak the elbow that I am still waiting for surgery on (Own fault of course) so my bike will be a glorified roady for awhile as well.
Fuck cars, I'm taking up scrapbooking.
i have a 1.0 gt chucker and wanting to upgrade the front shocks. is it just a matter of finding some shocks and they will fit or do i need to get a specific type of shock?
pic of the gt i have.
I went all out and went the magnesium neutron with Ti axle versions for my xc/daily commuter and ally/ti on the dh rig...
not used to the low bb of an xc bike so first sharp turn on the road while pedalling made a big mess of the pedals - ripped two pins out and ground a fair bit of the magnesium away
Pretty much anything, I wouldn't get anything beyond 120-130mm travel though (or you risk snapping the frame or potentially making the steering feel really bad). Depends on your riding style. Check what steerer tube you have, should be 1 1/8th or tapered (1.5 to 1 1/8th), drop outs (yours are quick release by the looks) and disk brake mount (may need to get a different adapter).
picked up one of these for the missus.

well worth the 700 km round trip to katanning to get it

Local mob, reasonably priced too
Rode a hard tail 29er (avanti montari) a specialized camber comp 29 and stump jumper evo far 29....decided that 29ers are fucking gay
Thoughts on a Cannondale CAAD8 6 Tiagra? (would pick the white colour option)

Not bad for their entry level roadie even though the RRP is @ $1399. Giant/Trek/similar brand have roadies starting at $999, but generally rock Sora or 2300, and look cheap)
What about one of those Azzuris with Ultegra Di2 group as mentioned a couple of pages back?
Was still $2k+ from memory? My budget was initially around $1k (given some greater financial priorities over the next few months), but I might stretch it by a few hundred and get something new from an actual shop, at least I'm guaranteed to find something with a good fit (seems to be very important for road bikes compared to MTBs).
Not so keen on the cheaper/budget brands, quote from another forum where I was querying road bikes:
Then again, the value is in the parts, not the frame. Could potentially buy a decent frame in the near future and swap everything.I work for a bike shop that used to be an Azzurri dealer. We dropped them because they were rubbish (this is a knowledgeable, not a pejorative statement). We have had 17 genuine warranty claims on frames in the past 12 months. 5 have been approved. The fastest warranty turn around was around 2 months. A major brand bike has far less chance of breaking, and if it does, warranty is generally approved in around 1-2hours, and processed in 2-10 working days.
There are definitely warranty issues with some Azzurri stuff, one chap has been through 3 frames on his Ultregra DI2 equipped bike. Each time he's had no bike for 2 months or so due to buying online and sending back etc. Cannondale stuff is solid, I can't fault my Caad 8 105 for a training rig. Cannondale warranty has been pretty good that I've experienced, replaced forks under warranty after a mate got t boned by a car and they sent a replacement F29 to me within a week when my new one had an issue with a rear brake.
Anyone got any CRC / Wiggle / MerlinCycles vouchers or codes? About to do a sizeable order
Fuck i need some shit from there Marc, when are you putting the order in?
