So I have a ve series 2 with afm recently it sounds like a lifter has stuck. It is rattling hard at the moment so need to work out what to do. Since I'm uneducated in the realm of Ls motors I'm just wondering what options I have and what things I need to look out for. It's a daily so not looking for a heap of hp. Thanks
Just wondering what filters everyone runs with 044 external fuel pump. What you running before the pump, or nothing? Looking to get some idea of filters to order something to make up a mount plate for under car. Will be running 1/2" fuel line after the pump but the tank outlet is only 10mm OD pipe.
G'day I currently have an E34 535 rolling shell and a spare LS1 as well as a spare RB25DET. Both motors are stock and I am looking at putting one of them in the E34, gutting the shell and taking it drifting. I have test fitted the LS1 and so far, nothing fits. The engine is way too far forward as the K frame is quite far forward and then there is another bar behind it as well as a drag link to miss as well as the steering box on the drivers side to avoid to make the headers fit. ...
I am currently rebuilding a R34 GTT gearbox that has a problem getting stuck in 4th gear and unable to down shift from 5th to 3rd even if you rev match (block out condition). Sometimes you have to jerk the shifter to get it to pop out of 4th, but funny enough, all the gears goes in like butter even on full song. All the gears can be selected in/out with the car running, clutch-in whilst on the brakes (i.e. the main shaft not rotating) indicating that it is not clutch drag related. ...
Yo, My GT3582R is starting to howl, looking at changing it. Opinions on the following, to suit 1JZ in a JZA70 . Power goal is no more than 400RWHP, plan on doing Targa/ rallysprints in it in the future. Hey guys just wondering if any one else has put the Plazmaman Race intake and battery relocation on there FG, I also got the hot side pipe upgrade but not sure if I need to get anything else for it to keep the blow off valve on or if I have to also get the little pipe for that as well?
Anyone work for Nissan and/or can get parts cheap? Wife has a T31 X-Trail diesel and the past six weeks the DPF has been giving us the shits... for what ever reason, regen is not occurring enough and causing performance issues etc. Wondering what the process is to do manual burn, and what price is to replace DPF if I determine that it is at the point of no return. Been looking around and just can't find that much info other then the real basics and conflicting info. Looking at a fully manualised auto box for my VZ 408ci (450hp/800nM) Main ones been looking at TH400 and the 80e, but the TH400 doe not go well for a street build car and find no real info on the 80e. Lads, mate of mine has a forerunner that is having gearbox issues. He can select all gears in order 1 into 2, into 3, into 4, into 5 as normal with no issues. However when he tries to select 3rd from either 4th or 5th it will lock him out. He can trick it by going back to the 2nd gear gate and going into 3rd that way. Anyone have any ideas what the issue could be? or things to look out for that could potentially be the problem?
as the title suggests i maybe in need of an engine rebuild or at the minimum just the top end, its for an evo 7. im completely out of the loop with jdm workshops nowdays. what workshop/s would i best be speaking to discuss emptying my bank balance? any recommendations lads. cheers
G'day Iv got a BMW X5 with a rough running engine that doesnt owe me much and a spare LS2 with a 6L80E Looking at dropping the LS2 in (have measured it up and its heaps smaller than the 4.4i V8) but the only thing stopping me is the BMW electronics. I'm guessing the onboard computers are going to freak out without the factory motor in place and I'm wondering if there is anyone in Perth that can help me out with it. Hi guys n gals just need some no bs good honest tuning done on a rather expensive engine (just returned from nz coz the last muppet dropped a washer somewhere he shouldn't have and proceeded to tune the car,wasn't a pretty outcome) also there are 2 places I been and are a big no no and will never get a dollar of mine nor recommendations from me again even if it were a air filter change,sooo any help is much appreciated peeps,cheers
On the off chance I do keep the FG and get it set up for racewars etc, Id prefer manual for Motorsport, some wreckers are doing kits for around $2500, obviously I'd need a better clutch, but what needs to be done ecu wise etc apart from the hardware stuff
Recently bought a 4 speed dog box with a long v gate pistol shifter. Interested in peoples opinions on how practical they are for either a street or circuit application. After having a play with it on the work bench. I can see how awesome they would be for drags however downshifting from 3rd gear to 2nd Looks like it would be a pingpingpingping.
Noticed on my 1jz supra that the alternator pulley sits forward compared to all the other pullies (harmonic, water pump, power steering). It also looks like the drive belt has had one tooth section cut out so its 1 tooth thinner than the original belt to accomodate for this! Wondering whats going on here? I'm assuming the alternator is not an original and they tired to make do? I probably wont do anything about it until i need to pull the radiator out or other work is required.. Cheers
Hi All, I've just removed my inlet manifold to have it cleaned up and painted, and noticed that the two inlet valves in cyl 3 have some discolouration on the valve stems immediately belowpingthe valve guides. My first thought was that it was possibly PCV junk, but cyl 4 that gets an 'equal' share of the PCV gasses looks totally fine. There is also a very distinct sharp edge at the bottom of the discolouration that makes me think this is abrasion causing some heat? This is an R33 GTR...
