Discussion of wheels, tyres, suspension components and setup, brakes, etc.
Hi guys, I've finally had enough of the noise from the wheel bearings being louder than the stereo in my ute. Have confirmed that it is the passenger rear that is noisy. Just wondering I anyone has done them before? Are the bearings and seals able to be changed independently of the hub? Or is it just a matter of changing out the hub. Also it appears that there is no nut holding the hub in so is there a circlip inside the di so the axle comes out with the hub? Can't find much online that...
Hi all, Chasing ideas that need to meet the following - lower than standard - retain legal ride height - retain comfort to some degree - not bank breaking Thanks :)
G'day, In the market for new tyres, 235/45R17 specifically. Anyone got some recommendations on good street tyres. Have had pilot sports 4, they're good, but would like a bit more feedback on the steering. Has anyone used them and the Bridgestone Re003? Any other recommendations in pleb sizing? All the best new tyres don't seem to be available under 19". Not really keen to run 'S compounds' like the SUR4G etc. Cheers.
Anyone know of they bolt straight up, the Subaru world is a confusing place. The stock brakes are fucking woeful.
Hey guys I need to replace my front tyres on the RX7 and can't make my mind up on what to get haha. Need 17s and they will be used mainly on track and street but mostly track days. Budget is roughly $200-300 ea. Tia!
Just wondering if anyone knows (fair few knowledgeable commodore people here) what VR wheels will sit like on a VT. Fairly similar to VT wheels of the same diameter and width or do they sit in/out? Some VR Senator 17's are on gumtree and looking to get them for my VT but don't want to be looking at requiring spacers so they at least look factory. Cheers
Just wondering if anyone has replaced the spherical bearing on cusco camber arms and would happen to know what thread / size they are?
What the fuck. Commodore forums have zero idea and information when it comes to coilovers, so AL question. What coilovers do I get for the ute? Currently Looking at HSD Monopro's Or Teins, Sport or Super Street
Guys with VE's, what have you done to eliminate axle tramp? So far Ive got a set of MCA purples and Super pro void fillers fitted with Super Pro Diff bushes to still fit. Was expecting the void fillers and coilovers to almost eliminate it but its hasn't. If diff bushed do the all fucking good, but failing that what is the best course of action? Extensive reading elsewhere has given all sorts of unfounded and nonsensical information. Wot do?
Hey All, Just wondering what pressure semi's should be at, had a quick chat to Simon at the last supercruise but for the life of me can't remember. Running Federal RS-RR's Cheers
Hi guys, long story short I put new Yokohama AD08 on my m3, 4 years before selling it. I have just bought the car back and owner has done 10,000kms in that time so Tyres still have plenty of tread. They are however production date 2010 and are quite slippery under fast shifting etc. Any tyre softeners out there to give them a new lease on life and make them bit more grippier or should I cut my losses and it's time to replace them? Also, he did put a new rear tyre (AD08R) which is prod...
Hey guys, Looking at getting some light rash on the panasports repaired and the barrels polished etc. Any recommendations anyone has used with good results. So far have only been put onto alliance, any others I should consider? Cheers.
Hi Guys, Recently put in a new set of QFM A1RM pads and RDA rotors in the front of my s13 (running the 280mm nissan 4 pot calipers) Took it to a tuning session at RAC on the weekend where they performed great, however the next day I found that under braking the steering wheel now shakes and the rotors are pretty scored up. Pads and Rotors were like a week old, calipers were just rebuilt. I guess the rotors are slightly warped and need a machine. However I want to try and avoid this...
As title states Wheels specs are 20x9.5 front 20x11 rear Unknown offsets
Pretty sure it's been done on here before as I remember seeing a photo Tocchi , your presence would be appreciated Own a 2009 fg xr6t but should also mention running brembos and she is lowered (fg rears can't be rolled) Now I'm in a little worried about the 45/25 offsets Do they they foul the steering at the front? How much do they stick out? Etc etc
So with the 808 being lowered quite a bit, there is very little travel in the ass end. The front end is all good, being redone not long ago, but yeah, the back is is almost locked solid. I'll be getting under there this week and actually having a look to make sure the shocks aren't fucked, and the hangers all move the way they should, but in the meantime, does anyone have recommendations as to who to talk to about resetting leaf springs or getting a set made up?
Hey guys, just after some solid info on the front suspension of a 2006 VZ SS Thunder ute. Are they the same as the sedan ? I know the rears are different, just wanting info on the fronts. How hard/expensive are the strut top bushes to replace? Is it worthwhile just changing the struts over? It's just a daily car so unsure if i want to fork out for front coilovers... yet.
Thought I would put up a thread of how this headache gets resolved. Background - I had a perfectly good 402ci motor in my Monaro, and brakes were first class. Changed motor to one from my old drag car - big solid cam, and made fuck all brake vacuum in drag car. Exactly the same issue now in Monaro Talked to a lot of people about my problem, and was assured a vacuum pump would solve it for me.
Hi all, Recently I purchased some new rims and now im in need of some new tyres. Currently im running my stock tyres on the rims (245/40/R18) with a small amount of stretch, was wanting to know whats a good road tyre to run that has minimal noise. I'm currently running Dunlop Sport 600's - factory tyre that has lasted 35xxxkms, need some tyres that would last similar amount of kms. Thanks in advance.
Got new rims, want to keep them clean Best product? Autoglym, Meguairs, donkey jizz?
