  1. R Class tests Cannington/Kelmscott

Does anyone know the secret formula as to why it is impossible to book a test at these two sites as it is killing me! Kelmscott jumping the gun at the start of Rona season and cancelled my first test and staying back at work cost me my second test. Now it seems impossible for me to book a time at either of them... I just want a HD already :(

  2. What have you done to your bike today?

In the spirit of the car thread, one for bikes. To start off, last night, I changed my levers to ones from "thetwowheels" which are meant to be better than any china/eBay spec stuff and won't discolour. Just have to figure out if washers need to be installed too, seeing they have a little play in them - not too concerned seeing they're for the Ninja 250. Also fitted up an R6 throttle tube (2003/2004 from memory) - the new found responsiveness is actually quite nice.

https://www.trackaction.com.au/moto-ride-days Recreational Ride days are aimed at providing exciting and fun on track experiences for all riders from first timers through to seasoned track day junkies who prefer riding on a closed race track environment rather than taking the extra risks that one takes from riding on public roads. 6. Motorbike Cruise Control Options

Just wondering (if anyone) who has run what systems? Currently thinking about buying this for my KLR for lap of Aus trip that I am slowly accumulating parts for. https://atlasthrottlelock.glopal.com/en-AU/p-9978675905/kawasaki-motorcycles-atlas-throttle-lock.html?utm_source=www.atlasthrottlelock.com&utm_medium=pr&utm_campaign=en_US

  7. Buying from a Dealer over the phone and by e-mail

Random quick query, found a bike I like. It's being sold through a Yamaha/KTM dealer in the dirty south. By buying through a dealer do I need to conduct any sort of PPSR checks to protect myself or are dealers not allowed to sell repairable write-offs/stolen goods, i.e. the responsibility lies with them? I swear I remember reading about someone on these forums that bought a car from a dealer that turned out previously written off car and it was a nightmare. I am a pretty risk adverse...

  8. Best Part Sources for Motorbikes

Fellas, Thought I would check with the other temporary citizens here where the best places are to get some parts. I know RatedR is on eBay and there's places like Revzilla. I'm after oggy knobs and frame sliders to protect my bike to start off with, then a tail tidy. I've heard there are certain oggy knobs to avoid because in the event of an accident they may actually cause damage (cheap China ones?). Any recommendations would be great. Cheers!

  9. Upgrading Bike - 250 to a 675/750/899/1000

Well the time is nearing when I'll be able to go for my unrestricted license on the bike. Contemplating a couple things but essentially it all leads to selling the current 250 and upgrading at some point this year. Will most likely use an instructors or friends bike for the license test. Pay enough rego/insurance on everything else so don't see a point of having two bikes. A friend is also trying to get me to do some track days. I'm tall (6'4") and about 100-105kgs for comparison if...

  10. Cafe Racer?

Decided I want to start another low budget project (staying away from cars). Something that won't take up too much room in the shed (already completed project Scott Bonnar lawn mower lol). cheapy/easy/parts/help available - old Honda CB500/CB400 ? (R-E license). Would probably only be used for short trips to work (or coffee lol) I should mention I have only ever ridden mopeds & im 6'3. Thoughts? Experiences? Do's & Don'ts ??? cheers

  11. Cool movie! The Unfamiliar Road: Overland Motorcycle Adventure

Hey temporary citizens, thought a bunch of you would like to see this.. A mate of mine, Dan Greening (couple of you know him) has always had a passion for motorbikes and adventure. A couple of years ago he sent himself on an EPIC ride that started from here in Perth and finished in.... "When are you coming back to play music with us?" we (band) would ask. "Don't know, I'm having too much fun!" And so he just kept going. And going. Till he reached London. Dan is a filmmaker and has...

  12. Buying interstate and frame mods

Looking at a bike in Adelaide, anyone got recommendations of transport companies, I swear bikes are more to transport than cars based on a friend at works quotes for a SA to QLD quote. Will be looking to build a hardtail so will be buying a weld on rear end, anyone done this?

  15. Headphones whilst riding

What do you guys use/recommend? Have gone through my second set of Plantronics bluetooth headphones just this week as the left side has died on me again. I don't know if I'm just a spastic and keep breaking it somehow putting them in and out within the helmet or if headphones just die after a year or so of use just so you buy a new set. Looking for a suitable replacement, still with bluetooth so calls can be taken if needed but mainly for music. Anything out there a bit sturdier maybe...

  19. Help learn me on scooters

I'm looking at picking up a cheap shitter scooter to get me to/from the traino for work. What's rego worth on a 50cc scooter? What's 3rd party insurance typically worth? What should I look at buying? The cheaper the better, as I only have a 4.5km trip each way - there appears to be a fair few on gumtree at the $500 price? Cheers pingpingpingpings!
