I've opened up a thread on Car-Porn.com for discussion, what people want to see on the day, but basically, the plan at the moment entails something similar to the ACE Ford cruises, a gathering of cars at the meet point, reasonably long cruise, one, maybe 2 regroups along the way, reaching the show'n'shine around 4pm'ish, and then a BBQ at the show'n'shine...

Have just made arrangements with Curtin University to use their carpark for a cruise next Sunday arvo, we're holding a show'n'shine as part of the cruise... (Have some prizes lined up, still chasing more, btw)

The meet point is shown in this map, for those of you who've been to the ACE Ford club cruises, it's the same section of carpark they use as a meet point, so it's fairly easy to find.
http://www.yourcampus.curtin.edu.au/maps/parking/zoom/G10.shtml

We're then cruising to a 'secret location' described as a "nice grassed area with Gazebos and BBQ's..... and right on the beach if its hot and people want to swim."... The Show'n'shine part of the day will basically start when you rock up at the meet point, and cars appearance and behaviour on the road will be judged, but the main focus of that part of the day will be after we arrive at our final location.

The meet time is 10:30am, at Curtin, and I'm planning on having us arrive at the bbq location sometime around 3pm, giving us plenty of time to socialise and look over each others cars in the afternoon and evening.

There will be a small charge for the map and entry into the show'n'shine, basically to cover costs.... Anything left over goes into booking us venues for the next cruise...

Prize categories for the Show'n'shine are currently as follows:

Best Hot Rod
Best Street Machine
Best Modern Australian/American
Best Modern Asian
Best Modern European
Best Doof Doof (Best stereo (install and sound quality combined))
Best Pimpmobile

I'm planning on adding a bunch of Judges Choice awards, but will do that on the day, depending on sponsor interest and how many cars turn up...

bit late again... we had about 15 cars turned up over the time we were at Curtin.. unfortunately only about 7 or so made it all the way to Rockingham foreshore... however, it was still a good run, and I know I had fun... I'll be organising another one in a few weeks time when I sort out my work schedule, and the local cruise schedule.. (however, the show'n'shine idea will go out the window until we build the numbers up a bit... no point tracking down sponsors and prizes to give away if the events not being supported)

Got a busy couple of weeks coming up, amongst other things, Big Al's on the 14th and the Ace Ford cruise on the 21st...
