Keeping in theme,

Sunday 5.30 on the way home from repairing my car in kingsway (thanks tom!), drove thru a boozebus. Get the usual interrogation... blah blah wheres your permit why do you not have a permit because your car is unregisterd. Explained very kindly that you ring over the phone and pay 14.85 using your cc and get 48 hours to drive your unroadworthy obnoxious jap junk around to get fixed in the interest of registration. sigh

The licensing call centre refuse to fax or email it to you. Then it gets better. He starts writing up a work order and slaps a yellow on it. On a UNREGISTERed PERMITTED Car!!! Im preety sure thats a first.

When politely asked "so is it possible to yellow sticker an unregistered permitted car" he inpolitely said "ask that again and ill make sure it gets towed home rather then driving it"

Mates sister was teh cop that pulled me over and she said it was all good and pushed me on. The Seargent pulled authority and thought this is a perfect moment to get another yellow statistic.

Keeping in mind that i was complacent and polite and did everything as they asked. "In 10 days your unregisterd car will remain unregisterted".

Its no skin of my shoulders. The sticker comes off and life goes on, but it shows that the work order system is stricktly not for removing unsafe vehicles off the road. Also shows that there is lack of communication between government organisations. I get pulled over regularly and the cops have NO CLUE about the temporary permit system.

My list included "replace wiper blades" and attach rear vision right hand side mirror. Which are complete legitimate reasons for a sticker

P.S he wrote down the fake jap plates on the work order. What a stooge!

What do u expect from cops i got pulled over with my 180sx and go a yellow sticker for rear 2 tyres rite they didint even see that i had a HKS SSQ blow off valve that front mount cooler didint have the piping connected yet and that i had a pod rite. So the next day i took the car to get the new tyres and took it through the pits and there was this piece of **** VK commodore in front rite so this dude checks the car which is a complete rust bucket and takes it for a drive the speedo dont work and when he came back he goes how much did this car cost and the owner replys $250 and the guy goes to the other licencing officer well it has this and this wrong so its up 2 u if u wanna pass him and he does so im there thinkin yeah this is sweet im passin this with flyin colors.. BULLSH*T

They were ****ing me for good 2hours oh ur seatbelt doesnt work, as if i ever wear it and your rack boot needs replacing this pod filter isnt alowed to move at all and those gauges on the apillar need a permit so he fails me.. 3 Days later came back changed everything and the dick**** goes to me oh i cant pass u your intercooler is mounted but piping hasent been installed yet so after arguing with him for good 30min he decided to let me go and neaither time he realised that my rear whiper was missin and that there was a 3cm screw sticking out of my boot.. JUST SHOWS HOW STUPID THEY ****EN ARE.

Yeah me and leyden got chastised in my torana when we had a permit.
cop "this car is unregistered"
me "No ****, thats why we have a permit"
cop "doesnt matter the car isnt roadworthy"
me "if it was roadworthy we wouldnt need a permit, it would be registered"
cop being tough guy "i`m cancelling your permit, as of now"
me "big deal i`ll go pay 15 bucks for another one"
cop with a headache "just leave now"

Theres nothing there to warrant a court appearance though dan. He cant take action on the yellow cos its not valid. And not acting wont land him in court with a fine just means, like he said "his unlicenced car will be unlicenced in 10 days"

Driving home for albany this weekend in my mates commodore, got pulled over apparently doing 126ks in a 110 zone. Asked the cop (only 1 female cop in the car) if i could see the speed as i didn't believe that i was speeding. She refused repeatedly and then started threatening to sticker the car. Not wanting to get a sticker i took the fine and pissed off. Thinking of complaining about this. Anyone know the law in relation to them showing you the speed you were clocked at?

as far as i know they have to show you the speed. if it was only 1 cop in the car i would take it to court as it it you against her, no other witness. and when you say that you asked to see the speed and she refused, your ticket will be cancelled immediatly.

lukian, that's f*cking stupid. if he didn't write down your chassis# or anything to identify when it goes over the pits then just peel the sticker off and don't drive it around again on a permit with any plates on the car.

SHE HAS TO SHOW YOU THE SPEED BY LAW IF YOU ASK!!!! NO QUESTIONS!
Its too late now but If she was on her own she can't fine you as she has no witness with her (another cop)! So If you take her to court she would have no chance becuase its her word against yours, and if you had passengers then she would look like a cock flavoured lolly pop in court!

yeah steve ill definately challenge this one, only reason i didnt question her further or refuse was that it was my mates car she was going to sticker, wouldn't have cared if it was mine. Apparently the new tyre we put on about an hour previously was 'a bit bald'

smash ons all around.

Just goes to show that a cop with an ego really isnt doing what is in best interests in holding up the law. This guy has no feet to stand on and still dishes out a yellow on an unregistered, permitted car.

Technically, yes the car is unroadworthy. It has no front bumper on it, but in the essence of getting the machine repaired (the sole purpose of applying for a permit) [those who question that will get a beatdown] but the attitude of such "SEARGANTS" really gets my goat. Work ordering it is his way of saying "stick this in your crack pipe and smoke it, who has the upper hand now". Guaranteed he was the kid @ school that wore his underwear around his head.

Oh yeah steve the yellow is yours :) You may wear it at your leisure. That way they cant do you again for having bonnet vents :P

Necessary? Is it necessary for me to drink my own urine?
No, but I do it anyway because it's sterile and I like the taste.

when a car is in the condition of this bunky it should be towed, there is no reason to drive such an unroadworthy car. truck it. i agree with the cops.

You are entitled to your opinion, fortunately others dont necessarily deem it with any substance. There are things that are to be fixed and procured, thus the nature of the permit.

A couple more items and it will be registered

As for Constable care, he was a priest in an inflatable suit!

permits are a system which is open to abuse and your abusing it! you know you are, all it will take is for a major incident to occur and this system will be changed making it harder for legit people who have a car that requires only minor work.

that is somewhat true :) I often travel to places that are not stipulated on the permit. But at all times i am between a point and another point as noted. Its their perogative to prove otherwise. Its in my best interests to make sure that that is the case. Not going to pretend i dont enjoy cruising though, as thats what its all about!

Getting back to the topic.... yes this ones gone off the rails, i was doing nothing wrong, had all aspects and they yellow stickered a permitted unregistered car. That is the point of this "discussion" not to generate personal slander.

heh try driving an import around mandurah.. the cops down here ****ing hate them, had one go over my car with a fine yellow toothed comb because my number plate wasn't centrally mounted... wanted to yellow it for tyres fouling on guards (they werent and there was no sign of them having done so), numberplate being difficult to see from in front (it's not) and the screen for my boost controller being a distraction (It's not ..... and he didn't know it was for a boost controller).

Only thing that stopped him was producing the pit inspection report from when it was rego'd 2 weeks earlier and explaining that nothing had changed since it was rego'd.

...And this was the 4th time in 3 days I had been pulled over for absolutely bugger all. Hooray for mandurah pd!!

yeps ahahah mandurah is ROOTED hence the lack of respect the police get as they deserve none down here!
relik what car you drive?
what was the pigs name? think ralli(spelling) has left or hes been fairly quiet lately, gave a mate a yellow for having a10cmX2cm sticker sitting flush along the bottom of his rear qtr windows in his 33 for obstruction of view
