i said yeah just got a cat back exhaust

then they said we know, you wake us up every morning revving your car at 5 30 going to work - can you quiet it down please"

well, i was quite pissed off as most of you guys would be.
for 1, i dont rev my car early in the morning for a cold start - simple.
2. if they want it quiet, they can buy me a silencer and ill use it in the mornings.
3. if i have to leave for work at that time,anytime, in my car, i will. simple.
my job has early starts and public transport is NO option. (e.g. 4am sunday morning..!)


who else has whinging neighbours?
im just really pissed off because they way they approached me about it.

should i do something about it or just leave it?

but then they were complaining about cars being loud, and ppl coming and going at all hours of the night, and having 6 cars in the driveway (i am in a duplex with shared driveway - my side has plenty of room for 6 cars no probs with heaps of space for them to get out)

but the clincher is - i live at an intersection of 6 lanes one way, and 4 lanes the other way - yet they still have a go at me??

just got my s2 rx7 with blow through webber 12at back, one gutted muffler no cat ect big cannon so its loud BUT i dont drive it late at nite or early in morn for that reason and that late nite more chances of getting a yellow, yesterday neighbour pokes head over fence while im tryna sort it out and keep it runnining as it had fouled plugs and was flooded tyrna tell me to shut it of its 5.00 in the arvo (ive just got back from a 10 hour day and its only time i can do things unless they want a sleepless night) and they are havn a bitch and tellking me to turn it of, my reaction was look, smile, and make revs climb to 2500-3000 and flutter accelerator making it pop,bov slightly vent and carry on and say i cant hear you for next 3minutes in which an allmighty bang occurs :D,
usually we get along with them they are nice people which is why i respect them to not drive at the above times, but they want to push the subject it will become my work car and make sure everyone is up with me at 430-500 every morning!!!

MY neighbours are generally pretty cool. I live in a culdesac, in a nice area with about 20 houses and the majority dont say a word. Ages ranging from families with young kids to elderly people. Only once has a "neighbour" complained and even then it was the ladies daughter complaining about an angry STi RA running rotational idle!

Two wrx's, dads which is fairly and mine which is definitely not legal. Plenty of other loud wrx's often come around, including ones running antilag / rotational idle.

I know they arent stoked with lots of noise but they never complain unless someone is booting it (which IMHO is 100% fair). I probably only know 60% of my neighbours, but most of the time i get a wave.

When i come home in the early hours, i think its respectful to drive "quietely" though. Respect goes a long way!

haha my neighbours are trevs and they didnt seem to care when i started my 33 up with no dump/exhaust connected at 2.30 in the morning to move it like 3 weekends in a row.

its probably because i burn prison break and **** to dvd for them, so they know if they complain they will have to wait till their favourite shows come to tv in 2 years to see what happens

Heh i get neighbours complain all the time about the GTi spesh when i let it warm up for 3 or 4 mins in the morning blarp blarp blarp, They have even asked me to put a new exhaust on it. Now i got the corti with a locker diff they dont like that! I even bought myself a datsun sunny and they somehow found it loud with stock exhaust on it...I think some people just make a scene about it for the heck of it aye.

then i got a letter from the shire saying i carnt drive my truck after 10pm and before 630am casue it wakes people up even though there are plenty of v8 v6 and imports that hoon around my area

i got a few complaints when i was using the chev for work
straight through exhaust with massive holes in the mufflers, basicalyl sounded like an open exhaust, theni got the 31, which isn't as loud but is still pretty loud, they complained about that too,
and i never gave it stick on my street or around my area, just idled up the road, so after my old man said i got complaints, 31 copped limiter up the street for a whole week (after being warmed up of course)
complaints stopped after that:)

There are a few noisey cars that come and go from this area, but can't really compete with the African lady next door who does some funny stuff - chainsaw at the middle of the night, loud music middle of the night, chasing her husband with a knife in the middle of the knife, etc. Only person who has ever had a go at me was a painter who was painting a house down the road from me, who decided to come and tell me to slow down when i was going 40 km/h - nearly a very bad move on his behalf.

Well....the latest complaint was from a guy who lives a few doors down the road. He came around straight after Dave aka RR32WA dropped, I kid you not, THE biggest single pegger ****en burnout I have ever seen! Ps. VL's are sick.

Fair enough you might think....

However, after he threatened to "burn my house down", and having shown me his sledge hammer that he kindly brought around to show me. I had words with the idiot and he left.

Rest assured....there will be a LOT of people visiting my house this Saturday night. I predict that there will be MANY a skid dropped in front of his house.

A guy a few houses up the street builds custom harleys in his spare time, and at any given time, he'll have a fat chrome custom bike coming out of his garage.

He doesnt speed, but damn they are LOUD...most of them have straight through exhausts and massively worked engines, but he will NEVER run them any time in the evening, only during the day on the weekends.

Some idiot did a burnout once and one bloke came up accusing me, his reasoning? That 'it must have been someone from this household'.
