I just bought a 180 and its got an apexi safc II in it, are they any good or just a bit of wank factor? i dont know much about them. Will having one of these let me do any other mods to the car? bigger afm perhaps?
it also has an apexi rsm in it, thats just wank huh? or does that serve a purpose as well?
cheers
rsm will remove your speed limiter as well as give you accurate speed and rev info if you set it right
safc is good and bad, allows you to tune fuel maps, but this can alter timing maps etc.

S-AFC are a great cheap tuning tool. I have one in the Soarer, currently running 302rhwp.
AFR's sit on 12, if you want to adjust timing, buy a cheap ITC.
Yeah i know Matt
Paul problem is alot of us dont buy the itc to match it, and if it realigns ingition timing to high, it can cause ping, and ultimately a motor.

so just leave it for the experts to play with hey? what else does it (sacfII) display? i think i read somewhere about the knocking? once its all set up you just leave it and look at it pretending you know wats going on... its what ill be doing either way
dont touch it if your unsure.

you can check out the monitor section, i dont thing u can do any damage to the settings there.
but go into the settings mode...that could be nasty, i stay away from the settings mode cos i dont really know what is going on there.
I found i had quite a gain after the safc was installed and dyno tuned

iits got knocking, ping, rpm and it saves the highest levels that u achieve but u can set it so it stays on wat the car is doin at the time ur driving there pretty handy just make sure u knocking doesnt get to high thats all!!

what knocking is too high? and when it knocks, what does that mean? and the same with pinging
at the point you cut a hole in a piston or spin a bearing the knocking was too high.

dont nissian have something else to control timing? like cas + hammer... hahaha jking i thought only toyo needed itc...
knock is the same as ping, it means the timing is out ... if its too high popped motor will result i think if its hooked up properly in safcII knock levels at like 60 and higher is high
I never had a problem in my r33 with just the safc so that would make sence fil

rb25 + 10psi + safc = 257.7rwhp
This includes full zorst/fmic obviously
