got a blow through webber 12at s2 rx7 its said to have a s4 turbo fitted to it, just wondering what would i expect from this power wise as a guess has no porting ect?? i know its a fairly general question but just chasing an idea, and will i have trouble with leaning out ect?? or anything else i should watch out for? or upgrade apart from going injection, and will it benefit from a fmic or is it different with a blowthrough setup as opposed to efi?
any other pointers muchly appreciated also cheers

got boost

with a carbi without variable jetting its hard to get the most out of your setup.
because it cant compensate as much for rises in boost and off boost driving. sell off the carbi and fit efi and fmic if you want it to run at its best. webers on early rotors were for wide open throttle on bridgies and pp's and they werent real flash on fuel economy.

yeh efi would be the plan if i was to keep the car for a while but i just want a cheap toy for the moment

nasty setup ,old school as
its kinda hard to guess but power wise , if you can get it to run ok , i would have thought around the 150 - 180 rwhp mark on around 10-12psi

yes it will benefit from a fmic - cooler air is better !

being turbo'd with a weber its going to be very thirsty ...... tuning it would be a mission & are you running a boost retard dizzy ?

just be ready to have the car off the road more than on the road

don't waste your time with blow thru setup....blow/draw thru setups are old & agricultural...save yourself the headaches and go injection....

p.s, you won't have much success tryin to intercool it unless injected also...

Could you Jet a system like this with the primary only open on low or no boost with a smaller jet and having the secondary with a larger jet for high boost?

I have also read that intercooling isnt as necesarry on a carb setup due to the fuel spray being different from an efi and it cools the charge alot better.

why about a suck thru setup ? be easier to get setup !

yeh i was told that the suck through is a bit more of a pig to start ect, plus the blow through carby setup was already to go as i buggered my old engine so yeh, injection seems to be the way if i keep the car but at this point its a toy nothing more loud noisey flaming toy id be happy if i could get 150-180 hp out of it, any other pros cons of these setups?

blow thru im my mind doesnt realy work well

picture the carby jetted up for a larger engine on a suck thru ... imho easier from what ive read.. never had any first hard knowlege on carby turbo's.
