Squeeling and Whistling sound, URGENT

OKAY i must admit i should have gone to mechanic's when i should have but i have run into some trouble and had to set my priorities straight...

anyways, when my bunky is running everything is fine and when i brake everything is fine but when i actually put a lot of pressure on the breaks or when i break slowly and tap onto this 'pressure point' of my break it squeals and whistle's...

could it just be my brake pad just needs replacing?

sound only comes from the front right (front wheel drive) and i went under the car today and saw near the wheel it has like a plastic springy thing that looks like those straws you can pull the head up of and turn it from like juice boxes...

the one on the left looks like the head of the 'juice box straw' has been fully pulled out and looks normal but the one on the right is like squished on one side, i am ASSUMING this is the problem but don't even know what that is and by hearing the sounds everytime i put the brake on i get scared the car just might lose it's wheel and fly off, somebody help me please :(

the 'straw' things you c are part of the power steering rack and from your discription sound perfectly normal.

id say that either your brake pads are worn or glazed.... pull them out and have a look, if there glazed then sand them until u have a rough surface. If there worn replace them.

btw check ur rotors while ur at it

hhrrrmmm.. thanks for the info, would you be able to give me a rough guide as to how much it would cost to replace my pads and/or discs?

i never end up doing anything myself, was proved when i was riding in my other car and got a flat tire, should've known the camber was the reason for my tire wear, up until that point i didn't know what camber was...

so f*cking stupid lol
