Im on the same plan, signed up awhile ago. However its all changed now, cheapest plan is $70 for 20 or 25 gig. Shame really. Just be careful when you run out of your current contract, they're known to be quite sneaky.

For heavy users, cant go past iiNET. 80 gig for $90 on 24mbit. Something like that anyway.

IINET.hmm there not having a good time atm.. my work college is having problems with them.. they phoned him up to tell him that if he doesnt upgrade to faster bandwidth they have to drop him down to a lower bandwidth and they have sent him a 10 buck bill for the downgrade..they have done it to a few people this month..due to tesltra line costs going up...cocksters

im with iiBorg, $50 a month for adsl 2, 10+10gb plan, plus to get dsl 2 you need to use the iiphone shizzle, $30 a month and they offer better call rates etc than telescum

not that i actually use the phone line side of things

i just wanted dsl 2

its usually stable if you get the right modem/settings, i connect anywhere between 8 to 20 megs

TPG are the worst provider next to Telstra for any sort of customer support,we are on Optus at the moment and they are slightly better.
The best 2 options are :
Westnet for normal ADSL and customer service.
For ADSL2 go IINET,good customer service too.

With Bigpond, dont recomend it to any one, biggest crock of cock ever, unlimited downloads, yeah but if u go over ur limit they slow ur speed down and stil charge you the price of your full connec speed. Bigpond= gheyness

Westnet without a doubt, excellent customer service and fark all downtime.

Im on a 1500 connection 5gig peak and 5gig off peak (midnight-7am) for $59

Choice of shaping or $10 per gig after that, plus waix and pipe traffic is free (also westnet - westnet)

i second the westnet option.

i think our plan is about 5gig, cant remember exaclty what it entails, $45 p/month, you can have upto 5 email addresses and it has virus protection, service is brilliant- 24hr helpline, never had any problem with downtime and most of all... they are a WA company :)

ye ye bigpond this bigpond that.
its a good service, when (if) ur nets down u got support in 1 minute its very good indeed.
also you say u want to pay 50 bucks a month:
>>1.5mbp/s:
im paying 50 bucks a month for 6 months (it actually is quite a while) reason being is because my home phone is with telstra. and if ur mob is with telstra too its 50 buck for 12 months. works out quite cheap, and yes when u go over your 20g peak and 40g off-peak limit they slow u down to around 64kbp/s lol atleast they dont overcharge u.
plus it all comes in one main bill :)
20g a month is quite alot aswell.

Go with us (Westnet) we pride ourselves on our customer service and will go the extra mile to make sure we keep you a happy chappy.

Check the threads in our section on Whirlpool (the site suggested above) for clarification of this.

Maybe Im just a little bias though....

For a complete comparison on ISP plans, features etc check this page specifically: http://bc.whirlpool.net.au/

If you're a heavy user, you're going to need something local. I suggest either WestNet or iiNET. Things these two have in common are a thing called WAIX. Meaning anything you download locally, doesnt add to you're overall download limit. So you can browse local sights with ease, which is a big advantage for us.
A new thing thats come up is iiNET DSLAMS which is huge. Basically if you go with their phone option, you can use DSLAMS which gives you faster speeds that you cant really get with westnet. Speeds of maybe 12meg? or 20 meg?
Either way, as these guys have said. Westnet or iiNET :) Bigpond, Telstra, iPrimus, DoDo etc are all gay.

EDIT: If you're looking to spend about $50 a month, go with Westnets 512k deal. I think thats what im on, get about 14/14gig for $60 or so. Plus you can pay via Postal card which is sweet.
Also, they won the best customer service award i think.

whoever made the proactive movement of promoting telstra should be shot

why would ANYBODY choose telstra dsl. Their plans are noncompetitive and their service is poor, as is their activations.

They are getting better though.

i would recomment amnet. several of us forum members are with them. 49$ a month 8mbit/1mbit. 10 gig plan

There is a lil catch though.. a positive one (they dont rate limit their plans, nor have any plans to do so)

CORDIAL

been with WestNet for about 4 years now.. the only problem i've had was Telstra's fault.. they took forever fixing something at the local exchange or something and i was without internet for a week.

on $70 1.5mb plan.. 10GB/10GB.

Iinet for the win.

I have ADSL 2 with iinet and the service is always pretty good.

Anything downloaded off other waix users now goes towards your cap.
