Yes! Since she came into "power", the main target within the Police Force was onto driving, and bringing in stupid rules.

But the day has come...

She has changed portfolios!

But what's worse for me...

She's taken over the portfolio for the government department that I'm in :( Oh well, I'll probably never see her :)

There was an article on the front page of the west australian recently. I only read the first few lines before shouting out f**k yeah!!

So glad that dopey b!tch is gone....No common sense what-so-ever. I have never known anyone to be so stupid....Then you wonder, how on earth did she get into that position in the first place? Judging by that picture, she certainly didn't sleep her way to it hahahahaha....

Lets just hope the next one isn't such an idiot.

Agreed.

Lets just hope the next one concentrates on the SERIOUS issues, instead of wasting time and resources on a comparatively small group of people IE car enthusiasts

Lets hope the new minister opposes the Hoon Laws lol

Technically, using their logic of road safety, the Hoon Laws are dangerous and should be banned (as the road toll has increased substantially since their introduction).

01-02-2006, 03:29 PM
What makes everyone think that, just because she is gone, things are going to change; that being... "the hoon laws will be outlawed"? Dont be ****ing stupid.

The last thing any political party will ever want to do is admit fault or admit to something not working the way they want it. It happened years ago with Health when Court was Premier. This hasn't changed, and never will. Come election time, they will look like dickheads.

9 times out of 10, it is the "powers that be" within the public sector that make the decisions, not so much the party itself. People like Michelle Roberts are mearly public "figureheads" they appoint to head the portfolio. They actually do **** all.

Yeah too true. Dont think fat tony is gonna be changing anything anytime soon. Well think of it this way, from their point of view, things have dropped considerably since Michelle imposed those new changes. Now I dont think they'd want to change anything if its working for them.
Then again, hopefully he favours the wogs lol :P jks

Very true. Everytime there's a spate of accidents we hear this c.o.c.k gobbler by the name of Grant Dorrington from the Road Safety Council sprout how the hoon laws aren't tough enough.

He approaches the road safety issues the same way he played footy - fu(ked! :asshole:

i f u c king hate this hoon legislationg. reading the canning times that over 500 or 600 cars have been impounded since its beginning. fkn ridicilous. what happens when they take ur car. they cant just keep it forever can they? what is the exact proceedure that they take

doofus
03-02-2006, 08:09 PM
Umm research on the internet, but from what i know, from the time its been impounded, you have 48 hours, then you have to pay for towage/impound fees. You have to get a letter from the police station to get the car back.
Do it again, and they can take you're car away from you for like..3 months or something.
Not 100% sure, just off the top of my head.

BOSS 290
03-02-2006, 08:34 PM
1st offence 48 hour confiscation, 2nd offence 3 month confiscation, 3rd offence loss of vehicle. Plus the associated costs of vehicle storage and the dangerous driving charge/fine.

1JZNOSHIT
04-02-2006, 07:37 AM
after the 3rd offence, i presume they would auction your car off?

Onijin

Brockas
04-02-2006, 07:35 PM
oh and it's not the 'vehicles' record, it's yours. So if you sell your old ****ter after getting it confiscated twice, then buy a Porsche and get done once for hoon laws in that, they take the Porsche.

I wouldn't think thats legal.

~20k to buy my car back < 10k lawyers fees to fight it.

not true at all. so many times you can drive and its the way the cops "interpret the law" that often guides their judgement.

What has me really peeved over the so called Hoon law is that they don't actually know what a hoon is i have looked it up in the websters international dictionary and the word *HOON* actually means a procurer of prostitutes so in fact if you get charged and your car is confiscated you have a good chance in court of fighting the charge and winning and then sueing the police dept for wrongful arrest and illegally taking possesion of your vehicle

Brockas

legally they should be arresting uf or creating a disturbance and or excessive noise the hoon law is legally unenforcible

A Hoon is an Australian colloquial term given to an individual whom typically drive fast and dangerously. The term is so widespread that in the Western Australia state government has brought in what are known as 'Anti-Hoon' laws to cut down on young males causing auto accidents by excessive speed and street racing. first thing WA has to do , is to follow the trend of other states , namely the head ones NSW and VIC , and force speed camera ops to put up 3 big signs in a row warning motorists of the speed camera ahead.

As opposed to hiding it behind a fence/tree/sign or something to scam us motorists ..
