Ok ive been looking at the prices of Audis over here recently..they are so dirt cheap now. someone in perth should bring them in and convert them to RHD then sell them.
http://i1.tinypic.com/muwhvp.jpg
Where you see Dhs - divide by 2.7 to get to AUD
So for example the 2.4L V6 Audi A6 1998, green, leather for 32,500Dhs = $12,037.00 AUD. $12K for a friggin 1998 audi…
The TTs are dropping in price too – check the 2000 TT Quattro for 56,000Dhs ($20K AUD)..the car I was tentatively interested in was the 2001 S4 twin turbo for Dhs. 90,000. it’s the scary audis that aren’t just N/A anymore..this was a twin turbo V6 quattro…it’s a good price too…
The 1997-1998 A8s and S8s are going for around $11K - $13K AUD now…but they’ve all got 100+ kms on them…which will be too unreliable for me…
theres gotta be a way to get them to perth for there is surely bulk $$$ to be made..
wouldnt mind a 2002 A4 1.8T
Ive always wanted a black 98ish 2l Quattro Turbo with like 500hp on its ring
And they are freaking cheap !
you can't import them coz they aren't raws approved.

hey guys
these cars are all from the united arab emirates (dhs= Dirhams) the currency over there. Its dirt cheap bcoz the whole country is tax free and audis arent the only thing for cheap. You rarely see a sh88ty car over there, everything is high tech and they get the latest cars b4 we get them here by a couple of years. and plus its about 11hours direct flight from perth and if costs over 2 grand for a person to fly there imagine how much extra it would cost to get a car over here. Also everything there left hand drive so yea wouldnt be worth it to import it here

but i think there is some bull**** on stamp duty that you pay stampduty on the market value over here :S could be wrong but there cars are so cheap cos its cheaper to have a new car with all the insurance and going over the pits each year and all that crap

nah u can get the convertibles here.
apparently you can import cars to australia - for example, i could, being a UAE resident here. The process involves:
1) owning the car for two year in your name
2) Converting it to RHD
basically, to do this you avoid taxes when you bring the car in.

i see sh1tty cars every day here man. sure, there arent as many as in perth, but there are still boongas (look at what the indians and phillipinos drive here)
Everything is NOT high tech. cars are and some buildings and shops are, but it is still a 2nd world/3rd world country.
flight costs have nothing to do with bringing a car over. you just get them freighted across.
for $11K AUD - why not make a 1998 Audi S8 race car you only take around the track. its so pimped to. theyve had one here for sale for ages - i test drove it and it was a nice car, very smooth, nice power delivery - the only problem was it had 114,000km. and thats way too much - the servicing charge on a 4.2L V8 using euro parts has to be ridiculous...
