why would someone use one of them unless they go it for free....

I'd ask the same about a 1G-GZE unit.

Looks like a dunnydore blower.
it doesnt have a long ass snout on it

And?

Snouts are removable.

That photo doesn't give a great view of the snout anyway.

the cost of a 1ggz charger is about 350+(?), the cost of a holden charger would most probably be at least 3 times as much, and then add the cost of a custom snout. i thought the pic showed the snout pretty well.

You're talking about a supercharger designed for a 2 litre engine, that's pretty much at its efficiency limit in standard form.

I'm talking about a supercharger designed for a 3.8 litre engine that would still have a fair bit to play with on a 2.5 litre engine.

I can't see why a blower off a commodore would cost that much considering how little the bogans think of them.

im not fully confident but i think the 1ggz has a centrifugal clutch on it so it can be turned on and off as well , if not which scharger is it?anyone

well heres a link , a 2L scharger on a 3.8L that can still have the boost upped, i think its the 1ggz(? unless toyota had other 6 cyl superchargers?) it is diff 2 the 1 on the rb25. (my bad - above comments...) but still the link shows the 2L supercharger is an efficent one.

Its not a 1ggz or holden oem one. its one made by the company who supplies holden... ummm

do they say how it goes? faster than turbo or what? it would only be better for low down rpm - cos seriously..why would u want a Supercharger running 6psi boost or woteva when u can have a turbo running 22psi or something...its different ill give u that..

Hmmm

Personally I don't think superchargers are the best choice for smallish displacement, multi-valve OHC engines.

Without having (complex) pipework to enable intercooling and overpressure relief (i.e. wastegate), only modest boost pressures can be used across a relatively small rev range. Whilst this effect compliments large displacement engines with a small rev range, it would not get the best response from the RB series engines.

Thats probobly one of the smartest technical comments ever in here Gav

Im not a fan of the eaton blowers but the larger version can push some air thru but it really needs intercooling and water injection to be really effective.Having boost from 1500 rpm can be nice on a street car but a lysholm screw type charger is the way to go.The 2300 series on a RB engine would be a killer combo with 500rwhp and full boost from low revs with no lag would be nice.
