chaps, 2nd gtr diff has died, rather than going for another 2nd hand unit which will die after 6 months again who can recommend a workshop NOR that rebuilds diffs? I have 2 diffs both with the same problem, bearing failure which is causing crown and pinion to smash gears when load (throttle) released.
How much to budget for a rebuild?
Cheers
Ian Allenby of Alltune Engineering.
If you want it done and done right he is the man.

I had the same trouble in my R32. The pinion bearing had worn causing the crown wheel the pinion to wear each other out. I took it to a diff place and they were unable rebuild it as the crown wheel was to badly worn .
