Well my old man needed a car, and so do I (pizza delivery in the Soarer just aint cool).
I convinced him to get another import (wasn't hard).
More importantly, I convinced him to buy another Toyota haha
Been looking around for a good buy for a while, and finally found the perfect daily car for a price that was amazingly cheap.
The car:

$3000 reciepts on turbo's rebuild.

Cat-back exhaust
K&N Pod filter
HKS Turbo Timer
Slotted Rotors
Some cheap rims

I might bring it out on a cruise, it's great to run around in with the roof off...
It does feel really slow, but I'm used to my car, which possibly has close to double the power of this one.
One thing I've noticed about this 1J (and others, eg Chaser 1JZ's) is that the power delivery is very linear when compared to my Soarer. This makes the Supra feel quite dull. The Soarer seems to come on boost very very hard and then taper off up top. This just builds boost slowly (possibly due to steel wheels) and just keeps pulling up top...

haha nar I got a manual licence, hence why I drove the twin plate RX7 before :p
We wanted manual 1JZ, but for 9k less, we can live with an auto ;) haha

I'm reasonably sure it's a limited, but really I'm trying to find out if it's got an LSD.

Yeah i've got a limited myself, they came with special form roof eg: aerotop or sunroof, leather interior, digital dash, torsen LSD, TEMS & all electrics.
Doesn't it have a limited badge nexto the 2.5 twinturbo on the back?

It doesn't have any badges on the back, just Toyota Supra.
It does have TEMS, leather interior, digital dash, and all other electrics, so it must have the LSD as well cause aparently it was standard on the limited's.

Brockas you carnt that thing looks in better cond than mine!, was it just imported or did you buy it locally?
You can tell everything about the car by looking at the build plate under the bonnet, just reference this website.

Basically where it says TRANS/AXLE on the build plate, if it says G319 its a 3.9:1 Torsen LSD.
If not, not only is it not LSD but its not a Limited.

G series diff Vs A series, i dont think they are interchangable. Need a JZA80 LSD.
The Limited Aerotop was the most expensive JZA70 you could buy, and since this one is in (looks to be) excellent condition it would just be wrong to use it as a delivery hack.

btw. the corolla has been passed down to my brother, i now own a car with 30" muddies, not 14" steelies, LSD rear, not a open legger and a 3" lift instead of a 3" kerb rider.

Nice car,Makes me wish we still had ours,despite the fact it was a mighty 7M,it was still in as good condition as yours,maybe even better ;).
Targa = Gay,wait till you drive it over a bumpy road,feels like the car is gonna snap in half :D,plus it WILL leak when washing it.
One day a TT 1UZFE 70 series Supra will be in our driveway :D

The seals around the roof have so far held up, but it rattles badly when going over real bumpy roads. Might just have to tighten it up a lot more...
wanna have a daily driver race ? :P

Got it on the dyno today for a checkup. No wonder it didn't sound right, faulty fuel pump meant AFR's were around the 15 mark hahahaha
Made 153rwhp half way through the rev range.
PING IS POWER :) lol
Ahh had the Steve Sutton special tune I see....remove the fuel line restrictor :P

Supra = battle-tank, luckily.
Old man was driving in city, he took off at a green light slowly, guy on a big harley davidson couldn't stop in time coming the other direction....

He admitted fault, and his insurance will be paying for it all.
Old man was shocked there was such little damage really, he was expecting a lot worse as apparently it felt like a hard hit, but supra took it well.
It will be back to being immaculate soon enough, maybe with new paint....

Other guy is forking out, he admitted guilt, and claimed insurance, so it's all good....
