This is a car I built quite a while ago. Thought I would put a few pics up here because it is a little different. I always wanted to build a twin turbo V8 and this is what it became.

The car was a 1983 VH SLE.
Twin Turbo 308
Ran on straight LPG (no fuel)
368 rw hp (6 pounds of boost)
495 Foot Pounds (6 pounds of boost)
275 9" Diff (Open Centre not LSD)
13.1 @ 110mph
4 speed top loader
Gold Centre Force Clutch
Koni Adjustable
ETC ETC

The car was very quiet and great fun to drive

That looks awesome... looks like a lot of effort has gone into it.. I love the idea of a crazy quick car that you cant hear coming!! :D

i remember (if its the same car !) from a few years ago , maybe even late tuart hill macca's days. cool as , something different, i was under the impression it was a 253 though ... but not sure ..just sh!t talk you hear around the place.

looks tidy for a early commo. :)

Not a bad effort. I used to own a vh which probably had about 70rwhp - i can't imagine how it would drive with 368rwhp, not the best handling car in the world.

There actually one of the better handling commodores the VH with the right suspension.

LPG Mixers (carbies) were 2 x Impco 225. The whole exhaust system was custom (2mm stainless). There is a lot you need to know about LPG and turbos as it does not behave the same way as fuel. More than happy to share what I know.

this would do the best peg leggers lol sorry just had to say that...

with some good diff gears and mini spool it would defiently go faster. id guestimate about a low 12 high 11 pass.

love it.

I had to make a new bracket for the alternator, it is down there, just hidden.
