Next weekend (long w/e), get your arse to Albany (or Mars).

Entry list for both hillclimbs posted. Will be epic.

Can. Not. Wait. But as usual must get car sorted, again. Delete sleep next week, standard practice.

Really don’t know how I ended up 35th in running order in a 206gti Peugeot when I am trying not to finish last

Will be a cracking weekend with mates playing race cars

No pressure then Phil! Never lift I guess, only one way to find out if you can do that and keep it on the black stuff. You'll be fine, but I'm not so sure about the Pug. No chicanes for the Quaranup hillclimb (short version), so that's a nice change.

Got the last couple of things sorted this morning on . Front engine torque reaction mount stiffener bushes fitted. Bastard of a job, but some grinding down of a cheap little socket to fit and it was doable.
Hopefully this will minimise the engine rock and roll and let me snap 2nd gear without missing it so often. Bit disconcerting when you can look over your shoulder and see how much the engine torques over. All that 'big block' blown torque you see...
Just gotta refit rear undercar aero and wheel arch liners then I can drop it on the ground and take it for a blat once I get back from work.

Sadly not got time to fix air con for the trip down, which of course will be hot. Still, it will be cool down there, or at least very much should be!

Is it next weekend yet?

New Quaranup hillclimb is all types of awesome! Very fast and flowing, and no chicanes for the sprint group at least means it rewarded commitment over the top through the fast flowing sections.

Basically, came down to how much you wanted it, so a very diverse range of cars within cooee of each other. No live results, so we were all going blind, which is a good thing sometimes not knowing how much slower you are that the others.

Rain held off (just) and nice and cool. Though the dust was full wylie spec. Lucky I was rocking a vintage RW shirt then...

Worlds going crazy, Tesla Model 3 in 3rd place less then a second slower than MJW's monster R32! Not to mention Jurgen/Helen smashing it in the big boy rallysprint class in their Tesla also.

Still, Alex driving the Lambo racecar smashed all, by over 5 seconds! Wow.

Time to go do Mt Adelaide today now. Oh yeah...

Marine Tce run up to Mt Adelaide yesterday was also awesome. Rain held off (just) and the chicanes were all different, so kept me guessing all day.

Those with the big boy pants pushed it hard and went very fast. I didn't. Just didn't feel like chancing my luck with the water barrier chicanes on the day. Dunno why...but I pushed it along and had fun, so was winning in my head at least!

Others tried their luck with the barriers and paid the price. Hit list included Tesla 3 (LHF), 911 Porker (RHF) and the yellow Monaro (all of the front smashed in!). Anyways, was a lot of fun and keen to rinse and repeat.

I'll link an in car video or two in my build thread once I find it.
