So who here brews beers/ciders, ferments wine, and/or distills spirits??

I've done a couple of random cider colabs with a mate (using his gear and him stopping me from going too ghetto) but recently bought a wine press and Fermentasaurus to have a crack at making a pineapple wine and also to use real fruits for cider experimenting. Surely I can't be alone here...

My last small batch cider which might be exploding some champagne bottles while I am work was just a ghetto 4L of Nudi tropical juice in a flagon, I'm definitely no expert lol. The most interesting bit so far was that vodka I threw into the airlock went so fucking smooth it wasn't funny. Like a neutral schnapps with a hint of fruity aroma. Keen to pump a big cider through 500ml of vodka in a tall measuring cylinder to see if it has the same effect.

My old man does spirits and by spirits I mean rakija - always good for burning the hairs off your chest.

Got a bottle of home made rakija myself from the old man before he passed. Can't drink the stuff personally, belongs in the tank when you need all the boost.....

I dabble in extract beer brewing. Flexible enough to get creative without wasting hours going through the whole mash process.
Setting up a keg in the garage fridge now, got sick of cleaning bottles.

Used to be big time into it, entering comps (won 7 of 9 categories at Bootleg Brewery many moons ago) and all the shit but life took over.
Best one I ever made was "Dark side of the Nectarine" - nectarine stout that would nail your arse
Still do basic kits for beer, cider and I make my own alcoholic ginger beer using a 3 tap kegorator
Also got a 60l still that I make basic vodka with as well

Bought the old man a $100 Cooper’s brew bucket kit - he uses it heaps and I don’t think he’s bought a beer in 2 years.

Actually comes out pretty good! Loves his ales and stouts.

Best present I ever got him!
