And yet members are turning away and going to facebook (generally the younger ones)

I see this on other non-car related groups. The same posted over and over until someone points them to the Facebook search function.

A lot of rework but some forums I am on people have done it!

Luckily we had a nerd on board at the time who pinched alot off the PBucket and reworked it so we kept alot of pics
But so much was lost
And many people kneejerked and closed their accounts before we could apply our fix

I haven’t had fb since 2011 and since the forum was fully functional in its prime I must say it was entertaining to read people’s build threads, general AL detectives threads that pop up and all the funny, interesting random stuff across all other threads. Ever since I stopped fifo for good the forum declined rather quick. Years back I’d be working underground and after the shift is over and on the 30- 40 mins trips back to camp site I’d have 20 threads opened up and reading one by one. Always had a good read and laugh and you’d be looking forward to reading it all over again once you refresh it the next day.

It's even killed gumtree with its market place.
I got rid of FB for about 4-5 months end of last year. Was great, made my life a lot happier. I signed back up early this year when i was trying to find something for sale that i just couldnt find anywhere else on the internet.
I keep telling myself ill get rid of it again, but it's just too handy as like everyone says, nothing exists anywhere else now. I use it primarily for marketplace, buy/swap/sells and to follow shops that have online sales. I cant remember the last time i ever used it for "life" things but i find it wasting more and more of my time that i dont have to waste. It has its uses, but id be amped to see it gone.
