Car Extended Warranty Question

Quick questions before I get onto the phone to Mazda,

My wife has a 2014 Mazda 3 with extended warranty, and as of late, it has thrown a fault code with the I-Stop.

She rang Mazda this morning and they have told her its not covered as Mazda haven't been servicing the car.

I was under the impression any qualified and registered Mechanic could service the car without it voiding warranty ?

will need to read the PDS of extended warranty - i suspect the fine print will stipulate they must be servicing it

Factory warranties, they can not force dealer servicing, however extended warranties, this forced servicing is permissible by the dealer offering the warranty. According to the ACCC, so as above, it will be determined in the PDS.

exactly what i did. Came up with low charge so i put it on charge over night and reset it.

all good now.
