Morning all,

Essentially, lots of basketball and walking has my feet looking pretty busted ass. Add to that the fact I am diabetic and it has been strong suggested I go see a podiatrist and get them looked over.

Any recommendations NOR? Or CBD/Subi etc area?

Thanks

Hey TJ, a small word of warning, while it is great to see a professional My experience with podiatrists, is that they will more thank likely aim to either ask you into a supervised treatment plan, where you pay them to watch you do some exercises, or prescribe you $6-900 inserts.

Bakers wants to bake, the surgeon wants to cut, and the podiatrist wants to make expensive orthodics. I am not doubting that Orthodics can help, but there are other ways.

Feet issues usually come down to a combination of a few things, strength, training load/recovery, and shoe choice. Feet strengthening exercises, proper rest/training load, self massage (lacross/hockey ball) will do the same thing for free. there are many vids on youtube on how to deal with each particular issue.

I know of Darryn, and Peak, and they are well recommended. I am not saying don't get advice/investigation, just consider your options carefully, before digging deep into your pockets.

this spot on... the key is finding someone who may not be a specialist as such but has a more well rounded spectrum of treatment as they are more likely to focus on you a little bit more........... Personally I only recommend people I don't have to see any more as if you hardly have to see someone then they are obvs doing a good job on the problem, not just turning a client into a cow and welcome to the herd.... good luck with your search

To clarify, I am not having any issues atm so don't need inserts or exercise, but I do want someone to have a look over them as I do suffer from corns and callouses from wearing shoes tightly on court etc.

I am more at risk due to diabetes so I really should just get them checked over.

Sounds like a good reason to dust off the white unicorn and get to riding.

I think Shane's (Monk_13) wife is a podiatrist.

Just got back from footsense in Dianella - Thomas Dwyer.

No bs, no upsell, did what was needed and all was well.

Thanks to Big O for the tip.

Correct!

But I saw this too late....

She does all sorts of stuff from ankle & calf mobility, dry needling, strapping, and yes, orthotics if needed. She works out of a few clinics NOR. Currambine, Pearsall and Ballajura.

Dry needling in more than just the feet? I get a good benefit through my shoulders with it.

She only really needles feet, calves etc. Just to help with ankle mobility.

Doesn't do general needling, although I get her to do my quads when they're not feeling great.
