Hey guys,

Recently started a small business and have a very basic website going on squarespace.

I'm looking for recommendations on possibly getting a better quality website going as well as getting google adwords going as it seems a bit out of my depth.

Thanks

From firsthand experience, setting up www.suvauthority.com took me about a day or two, and then another week or two to refine it. I've used Wordpress as it's easier to manage from an SEO point of view.

Adwords is fairly simple, you just follow the instructions and put in your CC details. If you want to be seen, you'll need to fill out the My Business section in Google as well. They'll mail you out a postcard, you enter the code and then you start showing up in Google searches.

Hope that helps.

Jump onto https://themeforest.net/category/wordpress choose a good theme with lots of sales and positive reviews, support is another big thing to look for. Yoast seo plugin is awesome and babies you through everything.

As for free SEO tips, check out https://neilpatel.com

You will burn a shitload of money with Adwords if you don't know what you're doing. Stick with Facebook ads to start.

Regardless of what ad platform you use, it is really easy to burn money if you don't know what you are doing. Having said that i have found Facebook ads to be highly profitable once you get everything setup correctly (for example one facebook Ad campaign for every $1 we spent we where making like $5)

To start off you need to work out exactly what you want to achieve with ad campaign; Generally if you are targeting a cold market that knows nothing about your business, product/services your ROI will be low and the conclusion you will come too is that FB ads don't work for your business.

Here are some general things to think about and tips (i can go into more detail if you like)
- Understand who your target market is extremely important when using Facebook ads, as you can be very specific with your targeting and it will help to reduce your cost.
- "Lookalike" audience is a extremely powerful tool in facebook ads, it allows you to input a list of existing clients (via email address), and facebook will use it's data points to find people like that audience. NOTE: you must own the list you input into the lookalike audience and have their permission.
- Have a Term of services and privacy policy on your website if your facebook ads are going to link to your website
- Video is the media of choice when using Ads (generally have a higher conversation rate)
- Read up about sale funnels
- Always have an up-sell - if you don't ask, you will never know
- Trip-wires are a powerful marketing tool to cover leads into customers using a lower barrier of entry (basically a trip-wire is an a cheap $7-$22 offer, that is irresistible and high desired by your target market, generally its part of a sale funnel)
- VALUE VALUE VALUE, don't just use ads to sell a product or service, use them to promote information that is valuable to your target market whether it be a blog post, how to guide, free ebook etc

The most important thing is to understand who is your target market, what are there pain points and how to use those pain points to sell to them.
