I know a few here use it be it from eastbay or whatever, so who's best to use for freight forwarding from the US, got some things I wanna buy but the company selling is charging a minimum of $150US through FedEX & we're talking a package that would be a max 4kg & that's pushing it

Any suggestions?

Yeah FEDEX is usually pretty expensive, especially when they charge per volume and disregard weight.
Just got a quote for some random carbon bits and it was USD1650.

I have the basic free account at myus.com, which I've used sporadically in the past, and usually only for US companies who don't ship internationally.
I'll be using them in the next week or so to bring some bulky heavy items in - they claim they only calculate per weight, so will be interesting to see how much they differ at the end of the day.

yeah it's like 4 shirts & a back pack so not huge or bulky, but after going the USPS route last time & stuff getting lost by either them or AusPost I'm not keen to gamble

I just used Shipitto as suggested in the "Cool things you've bought" thread. Package hasn't had a chance to get there yet but it seems decent.

ALL AIRFREIGHT companies use cubic measurements as well as weight . if the cubic weight is higher then the actual weight they use that for charging...

myUS, or US delivered have probably some of the best $ value rates in the business as their size means they can negotiate rates far less than a certain company ringing Fedex or US postal and getting their off the shelf rates that they then use in their freight quote to you...

ALso you will get charged on the US leg and the international leg... usiing a freight forwarder you will only usually get charged the international part ( as most companies send freight free to internal US which is where your postal address is...)

hope that helps the OP.

Shipito has had some issues of late, but used them again yesterday and seemed okay.

Seb for a one off you're welcome to user my shiptio account.

Can have them items sent directly to your address. If you can get accurate shipping dimensions and weight I can get you some quotes.

I’ve used hop shop go for a couple things. They’re pretty reasonable.
