Having some dramas with an insurance claim at the moment.

Way back in Feb of this year I made a claim for a new windscreen as mine had a huge crack in it. Had no excess glass cover so no dramas. Submitted the claim to Woolworths, got passed along to Advanti Windscreens and made the booking for someone to come to my house. Easy. Old mate came and replaced the glass, no dramas either.

Fast forward a few months when the weather has started getting shit and raining, I notice that my auto-wipers now only function on max speed or off (even when manually toggled). These worked fine prior to the window getting replaced so figure they mustn't have installed something quite right.

Call Advanti Windscreen direct and got the response of "Yeah, no worries. Sounds like they need to calibrate the sensor. We'll check when someone's available and we'll call you back"... I have now called them direct 4 times with the same response very time. Twice I've actually pressured the lady/man on the phone into booking in a time for someone to come out. I have then taken alternate transport to work in order for one of the their technicians to come out and fix the issue and on both occasions, no one came (surprise, surprise).

I've now also escalated the issue with both Woolworths and National Windscreen Group (who Advanti report to) but am seeming to get nowhere. I'm thoroughly over their pathetic service and am now looking for another (legal) way to but the heat on them to do something about it. If anyone has advice as to the best course of action to take from here so I actually get the desired outcome (i.e. a working rain sensor), it would be greatly appreciated.

tl;dr - Some pingpingpingping from Advanti Windscreens needs to fix my rain sensor  .

? think you confused a place you buy your groceries from with an insurance provider .......;)

but seriously in my experience it should only have to be escalated with the insurance company and any decent have your back insurer should follow up and sort (put pressure on the shoddy installer).......

when and if they eventually sort it out... shift .... if they cant have your back on a simple windscreen replace then they are going to be all kinds of thucked when it comes to actual damage ......

Are you 100% sure your auto wipers not working is related to your windscreen being replaced?

Yeah, totally agree on this point and will be looking for a new provider some renewal time.

Well, if they worked prior to the window being done and stopped after the job was completed I'd say there's a good chance that the cause is the installation.

You said you only noticed a few months after the job was done. Yes that does sound like its possibly related. But not enough to be 100% sure

You will probably find they fitted the wrong screen and the screen hasn't got the right sensor.

Windscreens im a fan of genuine. I found with my car it qas oy $200 difference.

Update: Received a text message today from their installer and said he'll be around tomorrow to see what's wrong. Not holding my breath though...
