So, copped an infringement from a rear facing fixed camera on the Fwy, 9km over, nothing to cry about, I pass this camera 500+ times a year so I was bound to creep over at some point.
But no part of the number plate is within the box at all. Called infringement Management, they said it fits the criteria for this camera and if I want to contest it, go to court.
Can anyone confirm or deny this? They stated they havent released the manual for this camera, so I can not confirm for myself - unlike the multinova Polyscan manual.

if you were speeding then cop the fine, if you genuinely weren't doing the wrong thing then challenge it.
post up the pic out of interest though, be interesting to see

The fixed cameras are the same brand and same criteria.
Don't listen to these pingpingpingpings xox
Send a letter asking for a review of the infringement. I've done it several times before with success.

I'd contest.
Needs the plate to be in the box.

@fourseven, thanks mate will give it a crack. The lady kept stating it wouldn't be sent out if it didn't meet the criteria, despite having been sent ones in the past that didn't meet it. She couldn't state that the numberplate didn't have to be in the box, so was far from convincing.
@dmanvan, thanks for nominating yourself . . .incoming :-)
I begrudgingly pay enough tax as it is, no way I'll just happily cop a fine if its not to the letter of the law, especially for a revenue raising process.
Standard response from most Govco employees is go EAFDC, if you know what you're talking about in most situations you'll come out on top, or with a letter stating we've let you off this time, don't do it again.

This came up on here previously, I thought the same as you but I believe the outcome of the thread was that you don't need the plate in the template for it to be valid.
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1e8Zo-xJDL2NzI4YjNiZDItYzQ0ZC00YmI1LTk4YmYtYzFjNzU1MjE4Y TFk/edit?hl=en&authkey=CMyr8sMH
Page 96 onwards
Basically the lower template edge must be below the wheels, no other vehicles within the template, and at least in part a tyre or number plate within the template.
So I think you're boned.

Yep, the thread is here: http://www.antilag.com/forums/showthread.php?55418-Vitronic-Poliscan-Speed-Cameras
We discussed it back and forth with people interpreting their own versions of the word "nor". Ricey summed it up pretty well even though he's definitely a homosexual. Worth a read.
I've asked for two reviews where my licence plate wasn't in the box, included the relevant pages from the manual and both infringements were cancelled.
