4K Chromecast
Same as above, PS4 in theatre does everything and talks to the router for backed up stuff, ps3 in main room same setup, Chromecast in bedroom for youtube/heyu/netflix.

Basically a device that connects to the HDMI port of your TV and WiFi. On your phone you have YouTube/Plex/Netflix/ABC iView/etc and an icon will appear that allows you to Stream whatever you're watching on the TV instead. You phone then basically acts as the remote for it (it doesn't play through your phone to the TV, your phone just tells it what to stream).

Assuming you don't have a smart tv then and if you are invested in the apple eco system then yes maybe worth it.
Otherwise if you are not in the apple ecosystem, chromecast is the way to go. Or put that money towards a tv upgrade if it isn't a smart tv! most tvs these days have inbuilt stan/Netflix/youtube/google play movies. I use all those listed just through my LG Smart TV.

Call me old school but I just want to insert a blue ray disk and press play.

Should stick to a carby engine as well with that logic?

More than 50% of my engines run carburetors:)
Chromecast. So simple to setup and use. Relies on your phone, tablet or laptop (even the mac book) to provide the
media but much better than an Apple TV (I've had all versions).
Your phone apps tend to get much better support than consoles so any issues tend to be fixed pretty quickly plus it's only $70 for the regular one and $90 for the 4K.
Edit to say you can use your phone for other duties while watching Netflix, plex etc

Can Mobdro be used with Chromecast? I have just discovered this on site. It is good.

Have a smart TV and still opt to use the Chromecast as it's so much more easier to use on your iPhone or iPad. Especially when cuing video's through YouTube.

Also use a Chromecast though I do have an older generation AppleTV (very limited what you can do with it compared to the latest one).
I'm actually looking to buy a new generation Apple TV just so I can install and use a specific app (indoor cycle training...AppleTV is significantly cheaper than specing a PC with decent graphics).
You can buy refub ones straight from Apple for a little less than the retail price. Still has warranty, etc.
