Just recorded this show last night on Discovery Channel, called 'Street Racing: A Night On Earth'.
Of course it's made by the yanks so a fair bit of it is pretty gay, with them racing their civic's etc.
What caught my eye though, was the Japanese segment. They travel to Japan and go to a few of the meets near the Wangan freeway.
The display of cars there is quite amazing, few R34's with big singles built by HKS/Trust/Mines/Top Secret, same with some Supra's and a few RE Amenia RX7's.
There are a few runs etc between some pretty crazy cars (RX7 vs M3, Porsche vs 34 GTR), but it was just interesting to see that they do it basically the same way we do here. They meet up, call it a 'cruise', but occassionally will have runs if they feel like it.
Strangely enough they still get roughly the same cop attention that we do, where cops will rock up and break up the gathering .
I dont know when its on next but it might be worth having a watch if your interested, there was also a street drift segment, but it was fairly lame...
