Hi Guys,
Mates Audi trunk shocks have gone and I wanted to replace them. They seem to have a different latching system than I am used to and I cant seem to find out how to remove them (looked all over the net etc)
Tried to squeeze them a bit but they dont seem to be budging, also im not keen on using too much force.....
Any ideas?

looks like you have already removed the metal clip. Just have to pry it off now

Get a flathead screwdriver under that metal clip (has small circle in it) and pry it off.
It should then be easy to pull off the ball joint.
It's basically a ball and socket, with the clip holdling the socket onto the ball.

Same as my Falcon struts, now I feel posh. I still have a boot though, not a trunk.

Thanks guys. Yeah was searching european forums so had to use the word trunk instead hahahaha
The photo i put up has nothing removed yet. So yeah there is no metal clip on the outside. I havent tried to grip it either side with long nose pliers yet so its likely ill try that next...

It's the same concept with the design, except from your photo, it looks like you're expected to insert the flathead from the sides (where the indents are) and pry each side at a time.
You actually don't have to pry these completely off to open them up enough to release the ball - they're a lot easier to install if the clip is already partly on.
