I thought this may interest a few on here as i know a couple of you guys run Racepak dashes.
And if you are anything like me, anything other than the lowest couple of brightness settings are usable at night.
after watching a video review of the new "Street" dash they have released. They have some pretty cool features like dash dimming through a head light or park brake feed.
So i did some googling wondering if they have a tutorial on how to set it up on the old "display only" dashes and couldn't find anything other than a link to a site saying they added a dash dimming feature to one of their firmware updates some time ago.
So this is how i did it after some advice on "guild of efi tuners" on facebook.
Set a spare DPI up in the Haltech software as a NOS activation switch.
Run a wire from your chosen DPI to a relay that switches your DPI to ground when your park/head lights are active.
Head into the Racepack software and set up one of the 20 channels( i Choose EFI EGT3) or something you're not using.
Change the function of desired channel to NOS Activation switch.
Then right click on the IQ3 Channel where you change the page layout of your dash.
At the bottom there is an option to dim the dash to what ever brightness setting you like when a channel is selected.

** When i first tried to do this My DATALINK software for the dash was an old version and didn't have the dim function. Latest update fixed it.
Hope this helps somebody.
