Anyone know what the rules are regarding after market tail lights.
Im particularly interested in the legal length and width or led tail lights.
Background - I was recently in a car crash where I rear ended a 4by
They had altered the arse end and replaced tail lights with thing led strip lights.
I assumed I was at fault, and tried many times to share my insurance details with them, but they declined to claim their vehicles damage on my insurance, insisting that they would fix their own vehicle.
Made me wonder if they were worried that they would be deemed at fault if tail lights they used were not ADR compliant.
TIA
Or drug dealers not wanting attention

After market LED very few are adr compliant because they are not fitted with inbuilt reflectors.
If not fitted you can by stick on reflectors that make them compliant. Oak shit on street car because you need have a res reflector on your bumper trucks you will see non compliant ones with a reflector stuck to the tray railing etc.

what S85SI said. There is a minimum width lights must be apart, something like 300mm from edge to edge as well as having a red reflector thats pretty much it.
Other driver probably dose not have a valid drivers license, vehicle not registered etc.

Don't know what's worse, the tail light setup or the paint job on the canopy =/

ADR 49 or somewhere around there...can't remember top of head. Anyway there are a few for lighting... but have the words like this..
Horizontal angle, 30° inwards and outwards. In the case of trailers, the angle inwards may be reduced to 10°. If because of the construction of the trailers this angle cannot be met by the mandatory retro‑reflectors, then additional (supplementary) retro‑reflectors shall be fitted, without the width limitation (paragraph 6.16.4.1.), which shall, in conjunction with the mandatory retro‑reflectors, give the necessary visibility angle.
ADR's here
