Hi guys,

just got an aristo and took to mechanic as suspected water pump leak. Turns out its a hydro water pump which I didn't know about before. He said he'll check but has to come from japan and will be $$$. I had a brief look online at converting to a mechanical one, but there a lot of different information. was hoping someone has done this conversion and can tell me exactly what i need to buy, or if anyone has the parts that I need?

thanks

Not sure of the reliability, but electric would be another option

Buy through Globeys as above simple swap and cost effective.

Guys that is very helpful. Just to confirm the engine is in an aristo and will be remaining in an aristo. What happens with the hydro pump and hydro fan setup?

I wish i never got rid the hydro setup on my JZA70. Omly did it due to the 'straight fit' after market radiator wasnt a straight fit and didnt leave enough room for the fan setup between radiator and engine pulleys.
I think i still have my one (replacement unit from 'low K' aristo cut) $100 if your interested.

Yep was really good service. Think he's only got 1 left in stock now. Just realized my other 1jz is also the hydro pump!
What coolant do you guys use? mine had nulon red in it, but i asked mechanic to switch to the toyota red... any recommendations? also best place to buy the toyota red as i might need some for my other 2jz.

Toyota and I think Auto Pro have started to sell it also. I just get it from Toyota it isn't that expensive.
