I've been trying to get my hilux ggn25 into program mode both transponder and central lock remote without success. I have the correct key ready to program but car just won't go into the mode, I.e. door looks click indicating in mode. I've done this before for my Prado so I have done sequence before...

One thing I noted is there is a beep when you turn the ignition on, think it might be the inverter the previous owner installed, wondering if that is doing something to ignition sequence, don't want to rip into that till I get an idea of what's going on.

Is there any other method? I've been using the ignition x2, door open close x5 sequence.

Any help would be appreciated.

Remote, try:

Key removed from the ignition
Drivers door open, all other doors closed
Insert key into ignition then remove it - do this twice Close and Open drivers door twice
Insert the key into the Ignition then remove it
Close and Open drivers door twice
Close the door and Insert key into the ignition
Turn ignition from off to on and back to off - once to add a new remote while retaining the original remotes, and twice to erase original remotes
Remove the key from the ignition cylinder
(Locks will cycle once for adding remote, and twice if erase mode
was selected)
Press the Lock and Unlock Buttons on the remote at the same time
for 1 second
Press any button on the remote
(Door locks will cycle once if programming is correct, and twice if
unsuccessful)
To close procedure open drivers door and insert key into the ignition

Transponder, I believe you need to use dongle to program tools. What year is your hilux?

Sensei,

That is the procedure I have used, just will not cycle and get into the program mode. (believe that is the same procedure I used for the Prado which worked everytime).. have tried at least 20 times... and ive tried the other procedure where you use the central lock door button... like I said im not sure if its the inverter, but there is a beep when I turn ignition on, wondering if that interferes....

2005 ggn25 hilux...

Is there a quick way of disconnecting said inverter? Whilst I cannot say with certainty if that is the cause, it is always easier to eliminate any possibility.

It looks like its buried somewhere deep behind the glovebox, will take a bit of work, was hoping there was another way to check before I go down that route. Let me know if anything comes to mind, otherwise ill have to eventually do it. Can people copy remote/transponders from a working key, rather than using the cars program mode?

Pretty sure remote has to be done on board. Certain transponders can be copied unfortunately as far as I know, not for Toyota.

Yeah you can do it manually no problem and the invertor won't make any difference.
The procedure I have says you need to do 4 turns of the ignition and 6 open-close of the door for the transponder.
Then it's two and two for the keyless entry.
If you get stuck I can send you the procedure because it has things you need to do by certain times or it won't work.

I think I've tried both, wouldn't mind if you send me the procedures...
