I need to get rid of some rubber softfall from a few playgrounds we are working on. The colored stuff that kids fall onto.
I have tried the usual suspects but the only people who seem to be able to take the rubber are tamala park and they want $350 / ton.
Does anybody know anybody that can take it for a reasonable amount. There is probably about 30 ton all up.
If anyone knows please email me at brendon@eiwa.net.au
Thanks

Should be able to dispose of it as a class 1/2 building waste @ ~$150/tonne (would be interested to know why tamala want $350/t for it).
Toxfree will probably be crack price expensive.
Elam Energry are a tyre recycler that produce the stuff, they might be keen to reprocess it?

Have you tried Brajkovich?
We sent some odd stuff there from Gateway that others wouldn't touch.

I assume 30 tonne is a bit more than you could drop on a verge 😃

At 350 a tonne i see it as 30 ute loads that's easy to tip off and a $10500 saving to me. ;) Brackovich spec in recycling.

The tyre recycling guys wont take it because apparently they sell a lot of the rubber to korea (?) as an alternate fuel source but the binding agents in the soft fall have too many toxins when burnt.
The guys that install the softfall dont want it. They only want virgin material.
The guys that supply rubber mulch dont want it.
We ended up finding someone at $160 / tonne but we are only halfway through the job (4 different play grounds) so i'll chase up those couple of suggestions on monday.
Thanks

Its junk. Its been repaired 100 times so the pieces are quite small anyways then we removed / ripped it with an excavator. I think part of the reason it is so heavy is it is full of sand from over the years of kids using it.

How quick does it burn? A few empty 44's under the cover of darkness perhaps??
