Recently I have been using Penrite 5w - 40 semi synthetic diesel oil for the Prado, but doing some research I have heard awesome things about Castrol Super RX 15 - 40, both are API CI4+ oils etc.
Also the Castrol is $130 for 20l vs $200 for the Penrite in same amount.
Guy at local parts store was going on about Liqui Moly oil, saying it's all they use in their cars, but I assume when you're a dealer, you'll upsell it.
What are you guys using?
Also use Donaldson filters, used them for Drill rigs etc, old boss was super picky about filters for his rigs and used them 95% of the time or Baldwin.

Penrite like yours.
I buy the oil on special. Just keep an eye out in the catalogues and often one of the chains will do 20%40% off on the oils. When that happens I buy 2 oil changes worth at a time

I ran the HPRD5 in my two previous diesels, a fair few of my friends use the same too, without issues.
I reckon as long as it meets the specs, the brand of oil makes less of a difference.
Just have to buy it at the right time to avoid paying too much ;)

Or have a mate that works at an automotive supply shop? ;) haha
10 Liters of Motuls Finest
Motul oil and genuine filter.
Why you'd use an aftermarket filter is beyond me.. The factory ones are designed to work best with your engine and a lot of non genuine filters don't have the same anti drain back valve as some of the OEM ones.

Landcruiser - BP Vanellus Multi-Fleet Plus 15w-40 (was forced to use Multi-Fleet when the discontinued Vanellus C6 Global - which was better!)
Ranger - Whatever the fuck knuckles put in at service time, they change their mind constantly... I demanded Castrol Edge Pro A3/B4 but they arse you around too much, it's the oil it came from the factory with. It's got Mobile in it at the moment.
Filters, yes always use factory oil and fuel filters, don't compromise on that one.
But really, buy one particular oil and stick with it where possible.

I manage a fleet of 20 HD machines. All run Penrite 15/40 and Donaldson filters. I sample all my oils every 250hrs. One of my reach stackers has 14000hrs on it and never produces a bad sample. It averages 60hrs a week

Never ever had an issue with Donaldson filters, run them on stuff that has a way harder life than my car will ever get, the Toyota ones are nothing special, except the price, which is crack region.

I manage a fleet of over 400 vehicles, mainly Toyota and Isuzu. We use genuine filters and Castrol Vection, we have to use Vection for its low ash properties in the Isuzu's due to DPF's.
we run with a 10,000km service interval and don't have any major issues other than those caused by knuckle draggers that operate them.
