All ive seen around are auto's with the 20B, has anyone heard of a conversion to manual, what parts would i need to do it? Im not sure about which box to put in, i would think the FD gearbox but i dont know wether the shifter would line up with the hole in the cabin.

Any help or url's would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Jack

yep , the 20b only came out as an auto , ive heard that you could use a fd box but i know you could use a fc box, as i have on my cosmo 13b which would be the same reae end plate.

as for shifter loc, if the extension housing needs to be shortened you will have to use a FC box , because you are unable to mod a FD box (as far as im aware!)

the rest of the parts would just be usuall auto to man conversion such as clutch flywheel etc etc, as far as pedals id immagine it would be an experiment with other mazda model of the same era to find out what fits!

Ohh mate your a champ, thanks heaps for that, im looking around but it seems cosmo information is few and far between, it seems only the midlife crisis kinda dudes buy them and punt around in their happy 'sports' driving mentality, content with the auto

JC Cosmo? They're so horn.. the only bad thing is the auto. They'd be on par with s15/soarer in terms of sex appeal for sure..

mate of mine has a JC with a blown auto. asked rotormotion about doing a manual swap, they didnt really want to touch it. apparently due to the distinct lack of space in the footwell it's hard to get a clutch pedal in there, and even harder to get it to actuate a master cylinder.

so yeh, i'd also be interested to see any info on doing a manual swap to one
