Hi Guys.

I've chosen to use Speedflow fittings for my oil cooler mainly because they offer 180 degree bends which I need in my situation.
I'm wondering how good is the 400 Series Pushlock system suited, mainly chosing it as I will be able to Do it myself and in all black it has that factory look under the bay.

Since it doesn't use a clamp, how well do they hold under pressure and temperature when used with an oil cooler. I'll be using AN-10 fittings atmy oil filter housing and at the oil cooler.

I had also considered using Proflow or Aeroflow but I guess Speedflow seems to have the best rep.

Cheers.

They are pretty good - whether I would use them for oil or not is another issue. Easiest answer is to just go buy one fitting and some hose and have a play with it.

They are the best. I was using them for my trans cooler and currently running them for my fuel lines and turbo drain.
No leaks and you physically cannot pull them off unless you cut through the hose the length of the barb.

They are good, but I have a nervous disposition (especially why 80 odd psi of fuel pressure) so I run EFI clamps on the fuel line as a second live of defence.

I wouldn't bother with Oil cooler lines as the pressure is relatively low, but if you do run clamps I was advised by Speedflow to install them close to the collar on the fitting so they sit in the "valley" between the last barb and the collar. If you clamp the hose where the peak of the barb is located there's a chance you can nick the hose liner and it will leak from through the other layer.

Aeroflow advise the use of clamps in high heat environment but I've notice their hose doesn't bit as hard on the barb as say SpeedFlow or AeroQuip.

There's no way I'd use push lock hose with fuel or oil lines.
I replaced all mine as they were all push lock fittings with incorrect hose that were fitted prior to my ownership.

That only leaves you with vacuum/breather lines then. I don't think a company such as Speedflow would R&D these fittings in all dash sizes and bends just for breathers.

Also there's hose; and then there's hose. I only use Gates brand hose, no repco,/supercheap/China shit.

Got a couple of push lock fittings on my -10 (5/8") oil cooler line. Never a leak. Hose won't come off without cutting, as above.

Put some hose on any of the fittings, then put the hose in the vice and pull on that sucker as hard as you possibly can. Go over the shoulder or put one leg up on the bench to get some more leverage even. Guaranteed it will not come off, I tried haha

I just did an additional trans cooler on the tow car using Speedflow 400series hose and fistings. A++ would plumb again.

They're not the cheapest fistings on the market but they're Australian made and top quality.

Been running them on my drag car for years with zero issues

Funny as mine had push fittings with gates hose and even Gates themselves said not to use that hose on those fittings without clamps too when I emailed them about it.

I only use braided hose and 200 or 400 series fittings for pressure lines.
That way I know they will definitely do the job not just maybe and when it comes to combustible liquids maybe just isn't good enough for me.
Couple of pics from when I made my oil cooler lines.
