Im looking to get an exhaust made for my XR6 turbo, It will be turbo back but id like to know what size it should be with out causing waste gate or over boosting issues and id like to still remain fairly quest so a couple of mufflers will be put in aswell as a decent cat . I only plan an exhaust and tune nothing else as its a daily.
Id also like to keep the stock muffler tip as I think the after market ones look shit.
also whos a reputable tuner around perth for this car. like I said not after huge power just a tune to give it a little more go

thanks
Marti

on my bf ute i just had the centre muffler cut out and that was a good enough upgrade sound wise and a generic 10psi tune

ok, if that's the case I might just get the dump pipe made and muffler cut out

Bear in mind the cat is a decent choke point in the system. I would try fitting the above and getting a tune, then if not loud enough remove the centre or rear muffler. If it's anything like the FG ute though it will drone a bit.

Nice of them to put an FG system in the display pic for you :-)

But if you need some exhaust bits, I've got a Herrod 100 CPI CAT and Mid section at home that might work. Would just need a 4 inch dump to make a decent flowing and sounding exhaust

The high flow cat causing the boost spiking

The three main specialist Falcon tuners:

Xtreme Ford Tuning
9250 8266
Units 1 & 2/33 Elmsfield Rd, Midvale WA 6056

Monsta Torque
9248 5225
U2/ 99 Mulgul Rd, Malaga WA 6090

BPT Motorsport
9302 3415
58 Conquest Way, Wangara WA 6065

The first one, XFT, has by far the biggest following on various forums.

I bought my FPV Tornado ute already with a bunch of Plazmaman modifications. I’ve been to Monsta Torque a couple of times with a shitload of noob questions and they’ve been helpful.

Let us know what you end up doing.

My Tornado has a 4” dump pipe and hi-flow cat, but standard mufflers. I’ll probably get it re-tuned early next year, but will do something with the mufflers at the same time.

Does car auto correct to FPV Tornado Ute on your phone?

A mate has 4" exhaust turbo back on his BF and has massive dramas. Its not tuned and soon as he puts his foot down boost spikes to around 18psi and hits boost cut.
What size is the standard exhaust on a BA, i know my FG has 3" as standard but a really restrictive cat.

Ok as above i might just get a 3inch dumb and a decent 3inch cat welded in and a tune. Seening as the cat seems to be the biggest restrictions

If you're going tune only leave the exhaust alone. If you go cat/dump combo without port work on the wastegate it'll overboost. If you go a full system you'll have the same issue and you won't gain sweet f-all power wise. It might run a number on theDyno but will fall over hard on the street on a stock cooler.

Tune only - Just change the centre muffler and get on with life.
