Pricing for the new Focus RS has been announced:

I'm fairly sold on the Mustang GT that arrives in December but this is highly tempting at that price point.

Wow, nice!

I would pic the RS out of that group:

This puts it in the same ballpark as front-drive rivals like the Renault Sport Megane RS275 Premium ($52,990) and Volkswagen Golf GTI Performance ($46,490), as well as all-paw rivals like the Volkswagen Golf R ($52,740) and Subaru WRX STI ($49,490).

Not sure if good or bad with limited options? But it seems like it comes with quite a lot of extras already. Probably worth just selling the stock wheels and upgrading to aftermarket instead of the oem option?

The only options will be prestige paint at $450 and $2500 for the Performance Wheel Pack, which replaces the regular 19-inch alloy wheels with lightweight forged units wrapped in 235/23 R19 Michelin Sport Cup 2 rubber, the same tyres you'll find on the Porsche 911 GT3.

I wish this had came out when I bought the 86 :p

The OEM upgrade with Pilot Sport Cup 2 isn't that bad value.
I just got a quote for that size tyre at $545 each.
They are a really good street/track tyre but wear pretty quickly.

So much want.

Going to assess the situation after I get the new contract at work.

The ST was such a great vehicle, the only niggles I had were obviously that it was FWD and had a tiny turbo - both which are taken care of in the RS.

What a bargain - at that price they'll sell plenty of them.

learnt from the sales success of the fiesta ST by the looks of it.

Seems like a killer bit of kit

So would I.. you've had the 86 like 3 years now? Time to move on you don't need two dedicated rwd platforms ;)

That's the problem I think - the interior looks terrible. This could be forgiven in days gone by (MY00 and prior WRX), but nowadays in that price range it's a bit of a turn off.

I hear you can sell the 86's for more than you bought them for. #boonglogic

He's fortunate then. All of the first batch and much of the second are accounted for already.

14 months is a long wait no matter what batch, or did you think he said 15?

Agree, V8 only though. Not keen on 4cyl Mustangs!

Would like an RS as a daily inner city type car though...

He was told there are 3000 orders in front of him when he ordered a few months ago!
