AFL Grand Final Ticket Hookups..

Have bitten the bullet and bought return flights for the weekend of the AFL GF..

Given that AL has such a broad user base, I thought i would throw this out there and see... I am just chasing tickets ... or information on the best way to obtain them.. This is my first ever GF experience so I am flying a little blind.

Any information on how to obtain, or the best way to go about it would be appreciated..

Not sure that's the info you're after or not. Expensive to watch a footy game but would be pretty awesome.

I believe you can purchase just entry tickets.. Ranging from about $180 - $349...

I've been Googling and it just turns up more and more of those "expensive" packages, which I am not really interested in..

Those tickets are offered to AFL club members & are sold via ballot method.

looks like unless you're already a member of a club you'll have to shell out for a package

As above. You need to get a package, or have a club membership (finals package) of the teams competing. It'll sell out before they require opening it up to other clubs or general public. Even if you have a finals package, you're not guaranteed a ticket. It is probably also too late to purchase a membership with finals priority.

Cheers for that information guys.... I should have realised that it was going to be MUCH harder than I originally thought.. Oh well!!

Looks like I'll have to explore other avenues and the "who you know, not what you know" route..

2 mates went a few years ago. Thought they would wing it and buy tickets from scalpers. They only managed to get 1. First mate went in for the first half, walked out at half time and gave re entry to my other mate. They said there was heaps of people flogging tickets on the walk to the MCG.

Not really that keen on supporting Scalpers...
