So been investigating why my motor went, and when I was taking out my fuel pumps I noticed my tank stank, and the fuel looked shit.

I've dropped the tank out the of the car, and found all the bottom of the tank has a yellow sludge all through it - lift pump is covered in slime, and I'm guessing my surge and 044 will too.

When it's dry it's a like a chalky residue.

Anyone got any good tips to get rid of it ? or is it new tank time ?

Possibly, I bought the car as a shell and didn't think anything of it a few years ago, I only drove it hard 3 times in the 2 years it was running, so I'm guessing either something had been put in it ages ago, or just water or something has mixed in and i hadn't noticed.

Smells like really off fuel, like old old old. It's had a few tanks go through it, when I first got it I ran about 20- 30 litres of new 98 mixed in with whatever it had with a stock pump through the system to flush it to the engine bay end into a bucket and then replaced the filters/hoses and put the new pumps and setup in. Didn't smell as bad then as it does now.
