Just wondering what imports have decent front brake setups that would be available at a wreckers? ie I think some GT-R skyline have 4 piston brembos is that correct? If so which models, and what size rotors do they run, would they fit under front runners? I don't mind changing rotor sizes each time i bolt on front runners but would rather leave the calipers there if you know what i mean.
Just after a cheap conversion for my fronts, as my stock setup is damn scary since the new motor has been dropped in. I have a set up VT twin piston calipers sitting round just need put new seals in, but if i can get some 4 pistons cheap enough i might consider it.
for the price u can get vt brakes for it aint worth bothering with any jap 4pots (will need adaptor plates made also for jap 4 pots) as the price of the calipers alone would be half the cost of the vt twin pot/330mm rotor/braided line combo available thru competetion engineering and are a bolt on that require no mods...see below

cant go past those stoppers for $795...

Nah one reason i first got the VT's was so i could get the hub adaptors so i could remove rotors without removing wheel bearings, that way i could run massive rotors on the street and then swap to smaller ones for running front runners. Got the VT calipers for nothing as the piston seals were rooted. So i figured if i was getting an adapter plate for these i might look into something better as long as i could somehow fit them under front runners.

The VN setups have the rotor as part of the hub/bearing assembly, how does that kit bolt straight up? or does it have the same hub adaptors that you use with the VT kit?
dunno...
my choice would be to run the vt brakes (rotors & 290mm calipers) as they pull up the barge vt pretty well, and to save the headaches of changing rotors etc id lean towards them...(obviously they fit under 15's also)
if your not fussed about changin brakes for strip duties (id imagine this wouldnt be a weekly thing, unless used in s/s or your a diehard waw fan?) as personally id go the competition engineering kit as either 33gtst/s4rx7 etc 4 pot calipers will set you back atleast $300 pair, then u gotta accomodate the costs for adaptors (and also engineering costs if not done through a reputable workshop as you'll get crusified by pits if ever stickered etc, trust me!)
PBR do a 2 piston front brake upgrade for Holdens and Ford...AFAIK, its the same ones that are fitted as an optional premium brake upgrade to Holdens and Ford XR series..
This will pull your car up very well, but not sure about clearance over front runners.

Not much will fit under your front runners
Try them on a VT first to see if that basic setup fits
If it does then start there
Harrop does an entry level kit using the VT caliper with a different bracket onto a 343mm wheel filler
This way your only ever changing the bracket and disc when you want to go drag racing. So no change of caliper body or pads and no need to bleed it up every time
These setups will both go onto the VT conversion discs as used in other available kits.
Check out the Harrop website..... kit is cheap in my opinion
Rears won't fit but you can't have everything

Oh, and listen to Neil (dattoman)...he knows what he is talkin about when it comes to brakes ;)
